Image source problem with Image:Publications Full.pdf

edit

Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Publications Full.pdf. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:51, 5 June 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 12:51, 5 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:Abbas bw.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Abbas bw.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 01:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Tahir Abbas, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations.   Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Tahir Abbas, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered vandalism. Your actions are now being discussed here. Nomoskedasticity (talk) 19:59, 13 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi, whilst you (assuming you are Tahir Abbas) are clearly notable you should be aware of the policy wikipedia has about writing autobiographies: WP:AUTO. You are strongly discouraged from writing articles about yourself as it is difficult to meet other policies such as maintaining a neutral point of view when writing about yourself. Please stop editing the article yourself, if you would like another editor to add content, please place it on the talk page and add {{request edit}} on the page to draw other editors attention to it. I'm utterly confused about this wiki page - I am drtahir007 and I am Tahir Abbas - I want to ensure that my wiki entry is accurate and fair and does not disadvantage me in anyway professionally - I would like my page deleted - if not, then please get rid of the family and education sections - i will continue to try and get a result - apologies if i mess this system up - but the wiki editing side of things is far too complex for me to appreciate nor do i have the resources - time/energy - so please shown some support and make things easier for the users

AfD nomination of Tahir Abbas

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Tahir Abbas. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tahir Abbas (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:08, 26 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I need to become unblocked as I need to make fundamentally important changes to my own BLP. I have requested the deletion of my own wiki page because it contains defamatory material that is subject to legal action. It wholly misrepresents by relying on one article and one source in that article in relation to a number of very sensitive issues that were legally bound to remain confidential, and for genuine reasons. I wish to make the necessary edits, or potentially delete the page itself. This wiki page is the first on a google search of my name, and therefore wholly damaging to my repution

Decline reason:

Unfortunately, I'm forced to decline your request. None of the reasons cited for requesting unblock (editing own article, etc) are valid reasons under our blocking policy. Further, the disruption for which you were blocked is entirely centered around the article about you - so there can be no guarantee that the disruption would cease. Quite the opposite, actually, given your stated intentions in this unblock request. Please see my additional comments, below. Best, UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 13:38, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Let me have a look. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 13:17, 29 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

The article is currently undergoing an Articles for deletion debate, though consensus there appears to lean toward Keeping the article. If you like, you can post a comment here and I (or another admin) will copy it to the AFD. An article won't be deleted unless it fails to comply with policy, and this article appears to satisfy all of the relevant requirements. If a statement is inaccurate, but properly sourced to a reliable publication such as Times Higher Education, for example, then we would need an equally reliable source that contradicts that statement before removing it. Unfortunately, I can find no sources that contradict the facts of that section specifically, or of the article in general. While we do not offer legal advice, I will additionally note that there is no confidentiality agreement between Wikipedia and any entity which might be related to you. So, if someone else was supposed to keep something confidential, and failed to do so, then it would seem that your recourse is with them. Hinting at legal threats does not help your cause here.
