Price of oil

edit

Thanks for calling my attention to your recent contributions. It is incredibly complex, isn't it? There are so many factors at play. If I were to work on it again, I would read a lot of the related The Economist articles as a result of a search under "COVID and the price of oil" which provides context and a broader perspective than most market analyses. I am not able to add much at this time as any edits related to the price of oil, which is always a multi-pronged "current issue", demand careful and copious reading. When I do focus on it, I usually do nothing else. Thank you for the amount of work you have already accomplished here. By focusing on this alone, you are already making a valuable contribution. Over time however, such detailed analysis will probably have to be more concise as the article is rightfully acknowledged as in need of a cleanup because it has an "overwhelming amount of information". Thanks again for being a Wikipedia volunteer editor.Oceanflynn (talk) 18:01, 5 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

I-73 newspaper articles

edit

I see that you also found the Sun News "Frankenstein" series of articles. Are you planning on applying them to the main I-73 article, or have you already decided that they're redundant to what's already there? Mapsax (talk) 22:54, 12 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I hadn't really thought about what I was going to do. I just saw that one obvious missing detail.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 16:16, 13 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

edit

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:31, 29 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Davidson's Fort

edit

On the WP North Carolina page, I noticed Davidson's Fort was listed as needing work. Since you had also worked on this article, I thought you might want to take a look at my efforts. I decided to not try and untangle the William Davidsons. There is a bunch about the fort in Daniel Smith's pension file, but of course I never wrote that article so that we have a usable source. I do know which story is correct to use about Daniel's wife (sister of Samuel or daughter of William) because I remember Smith may have deserted his post to get married. Or, at least, that was why his widow was not able to get his pension. Rublamb (talk) 03:42, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply

I do feel it is important to distinguish between the William Davidsons, since the various sources made it so confusing to figure out which one was which. Other than that I guess it's fine.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 18:15, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
We can only hope that the other two William Davidsons mentioned were the right ones. I assume since neither of them became a colonel, they were both Samuel's brother.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 18:24, 4 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
