American versus British spelling

On the talk (discussion) page for the article English language, it says that the consensus is to use British spelling for that article. Wikipedia has not standardized on American English throughout; that varies from article to article but should be consistent within each one. Thanks, PleaseStand ^(talk) 09:17, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
