editHello, I'm Mako001. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Stockholm Arlanda Airport, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 18:12, 3 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, According to SAS's website and flightconnection.com, these routes start earlier than planned. I don't have any concrete sources that start on the routes have been changed, but you can go to SAS website to check this up. Vikingcow (talk) 18:18, 3 June 2023 (UTC)

- I can't refer to a source that says they have changed routes start dates? If so, do I have to refer to SAS's website.@Mako001: Vikingcow (talk) 17:51, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not totally sure that I understand what you mean, but I'm hoping that this answer is useful: If you can verify it from SAS's website, then cite that as your reference. I think https://aeroroutes.com might be useful too, so that is worth a check if you haven't already. Mako001 (C) (T) 🇺🇦 04:07, 5 June 2023 (UTC)
- That's the problem, I can't just refer to SAS's source as it doesn't show that they have changed the start-up on certain routes. Besides, I wouldn't change things that aren't true. If people really want to check this, just go to SAS's website Vikingcow (talk) 09:42, 5 June 2023 (UTC)

Hello, I see you removed Bahrain as a destination for Gulf Air at the Nice Airport page. Please read WP:AIRPORT-CONTENT point #7 on the difference between nonstop vs. direct flights eventhough GF doesn't fly nonstop from NCE to BAH. It is still bookable on their website with a stop at MXP. If you have any issues, please discuss at the project talk page. Thanks. 97.82.30.107 (talk) 06:36, 4 June 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, they had a direct route last year, but this year it goes via Milan Malpensa. Then it will be correct that it says Milan and not Bahrain? @97.82.30.107: Vikingcow (talk) 07:59, 4 June 2023 (UTC)

editHello, and thank you for your edits!
However, try to avoid using Bare URLs as references. For the best examples on how to include references with more details, please see WP:IC.
Thank you! (VenFlyer98 (talk) 18:22, 22 September 2023 (UTC))
- Hello VenFlyer98,
- Thank you for your message and for reviewing my edits. I appreciate your feedback and guidance.
- I understand your point about avoiding Bare URLs as references, and I'll definitely take a look at WP:IC to get a better understanding of how to include more detailed references. I'm relatively new to Wikipedia editing, so I'm still learning the ropes.
- If you have any specific tips or examples you'd like to share, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm always open to learning and improving my editing skills.
- Thank you once again for your help and for your contributions to Wikipedia.
- Best regards, Vikingcow (talk) 07:52, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
Düsseldorf Airport
editWhat I noticed on Düsseldorf Airport was an unsourced edit, with possible WP:OR. That is not correct. Please add sources. The Banner talk 22:41, 28 October 2023 (UTC)
Adding flights
editGood morning,
two things that I would like to share with you.
1. If it is clear that an airline will add a route, for example Norwegian yesterday, and it is clear that there will be sources for it inwith hours or maybe a day, then please just wait until the sources are there and then add the flights to the pages. It is way easier this way.
2. And second, please use the format that is needed by WP:Airports. And that is:
Destination airport (begins DD.MM.YYYY),reference
For example: [[Alicante–Elche Miguel Hernández Airport|Alicante]] (begins 1 April 2024),<ref>{{Cite web|title=Norwegian NS24 Network Additions – 14NOV23|url=https://www.aeroroutes.com/eng/231114-d8dyns24|website=AeroRoutes|language=en-CA}}</ref>
I already changed it for your edits in Munich and Billund. Would be great if you could stick to the guidelines in future edits.
Best regards Der HON (talk) 12:33, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello Der HON,
- Thank you for your message and the valuable tips. I am relatively new to Wikipedia editing, so I appreciate the guidance.
- I apologize if my previous changes did not adhere to the correct format. I will definitely take into account the guidelines of WP:Airports in the future and use the proper format for destination and date.
- Regarding your second observation, I wonder if there is a specific reason you are monitoring the changes I make to the airlines at the airports? I appreciate constructive feedback and guidance, but it made me curious if there is something specific you would like to discuss or if there's anything I should be aware of.
- Thanks again for your help, and I look forward to improving my editing skills in line with the guidelines. Vikingcow (talk) 13:20, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- I am looking forward to your improved editing skills. That will make the encyclopedia better (and most likely will save you time).
- a lot of people have watchlist where they can follow edits on articles (not editors). Due to a cluster of IP-vandals on airports, as a secondary catch I see your edits. So it has nothing to do with you, just with the airports you edits. Hope that clears things up from my side.
- Happy editing! The Banner talk 13:48, 15 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate your guidance on Wikipedia formatting. It's helpful to know about the watchlist system and your advice for future edits.
- I also received a message from The Banner, who explained the monitoring of airport edits due to IP-vandalism concerns. Just to confirm, are you and The Banner the same person, or are these separate individuals?
- Looking forward to your response. Vikingcow (talk) 18:59, 15 November 2023 (UTC)

Zurich Airport
editMuch to my surprise, you have added some info to Zurich Airport without any sources but with source request. Why did you do that? If you do not have sources, you should not add the info. It is not up to others to provide sources. The Banner talk 14:26, 6 December 2023 (UTC)
- Today you did it again, and I reverted it. If you do not have a source for a destination, do not add it please. The Banner talk 10:34, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

- Then just wait until the media has published articles that can be used as reliable sources. It is as simple as that. Now I had to search for sources regarding the new ZRH flights by myself, because you did not comply with editing standards. That is definitely not the point.
- Have a look at the opening paragraph of the airline and destinations table:
- DO NOT ADD OR REMOVE ROUTES WITHOUT GIVING A VALID SOURCE. [...]
- Should be easy to understand, no?
Der HON (talk) 08:36, 8 December 2023 (UTC)- Why are you meddling in this matter, when I am already writing to others who say exactly the same thing? And why should I bother to answer you when you didn't answer me last time? You obviously have very little to do since you go around acting wikipedia police. Also, I do editing for fun as I find new routes and airlines exciting. Vikingcow (talk) 12:51, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- Good Morning,
- I wrote to you because your unsourced edits constantly popped up on my watchlist (I've got almost 150 european airports there) and it is strictly against WP:V and WP:Airports and the hidden message of every airlines and destination paragraph to add a route w/o a source and then set a [citation needed] by oneself.
- I also love new routes and airlines and my aim on Wikipedia is to keep the european airports as up-to-date and reliable as possible. Therefore, just like you, I daily notice new routes that just do not seem to have a source already.
- But it shouldn't be of any deal to just wait for a small period of time until when e.g. aeroroutes, the airline itself or another portal publishes a detailed source about the route.
- E.g. your edits at ZRH. You added the new Harstad route without any source. Later the same day I saw it and was directly able to add one.
- That is what I meant by saying "Just wait a few hours or in the worst case one day until a proper source arises."
Brgds,
Der HON (talk) 09:45, 11 December 2023 (UTC)- Good evening,
- I understand. Didn't know you had control over 150 European airports. Seems exciting. When it comes to editing, I must honestly admit that I don't quite understand how to do it. It can seem a bit confusing. And since I do this mostly for fun, as I think airlines and routes are very fun and exciting, I haven't gotten too into it. I must apologize for that. Vikingcow (talk) 18:51, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- For your information: the watchlist is to watch or follow articles so you can see what happens there. It is not to control them. The Banner talk 19:06, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
- I am fully aware of that Vikingcow (talk) 19:08, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
- You may have misunderstood the Wikipedia watchlist. The watchlist itself is something of an edit summary of all the last changes that were performed to articles that you have selected beforehand. You can choose those by clicking on the little star in the upper right hand corner of an article, which then turns blue. You could try it e.g. with Bergen Airport, if you want :).
- Of course, editing can be confusing. Therefore, I advise you to look at WP:Airports, the wikipedia-wide standards for all airport pages. You can find valuable tips regarding editing and proper sourcing there.
- We strongly embrace editors like you that edit for fun and most of your edits are in compliance with the Wikipedia standards, but if some are not and get reverted, please don't get angry and best case get in touch with the person that reverted it or look into the edit summary.
Brgds

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport
editWhy do you keep adding things without adding an independent source? That should be something you know by now. The Banner talk 11:39, 9 January 2024 (UTC)
- I thought the source said the route would last from December to March, but I found a new source that cleared things up. But now it turns out that the route will be a year-round route from April to October. Vikingcow (talk) 19:05, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
- Then please provide the source for that in the article. The Banner talk 19:51, 11 January 2024 (UTC)
Helsinki Airport
editI think you really do not get the idea of sourcing edits. The IP did not source its edits, so I reverted. Then you reinstated the unsourced additions, so I reverted. And now you reinstated again the unsourced additions?? Are you kidding? The Banner talk 18:39, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- Are you kidding? Norwegian has operated these routes for several years, so why can't you refer to a source that says Norwegian does not operate these routes as of today? You can't just remove routes that they operate with today. Search Norwegiasn.com and you will see that you can book between Helsinki and Gran Canaria. Vikingcow (talk) 18:42, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- So you really do not understand the necessity of sourcing new additions to the article. The new and unsourced additions. Please revert your incorrect edit. The Banner talk 18:57, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- No, because this has been a route for many years. How can one find a fresh source for a route that has been operated for many years? Whoever added it has probably seen that these routes have been MISSING. Vikingcow (talk) 20:37, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
- And still it needs independent sourcing. No booking machines, the company website or the airport website. Something like newspaper articles will do. The Banner talk 21:49, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
