Map

edit

Greetings! The map is absolutely ridiculous and laughable :D:D:D There are many proves that there were no Greeks in many of the territories marked on that map. But the Greeks don't seem that they like to cooperate in removing it from the article. Even if that person Stanford was a known cartographer (as the Greek users say I think), he seems to me to have been incompetent or uninformed in his ethical studies in the Balkans. --Gligan (talk) 14:30, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

The map has nothing to do with reality and was made especially to justify the breaking of Bulgaria in several pieces solely for political reasons.--Avidius (talk) 15:01, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Alexandru Madgearu

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Alexandru Madgearu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sulmues Let's talk 03:03, 12 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Why was it deleted? Please explain meVillick (talk) 14:26, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

No notability. You need to get familiar with notability problems first. Not every single academic can go to Wikipedia, otherwise we'd have at least 1 million. Read Wikipedia:ACADEMIC and get familiar with it. Thank you for your contributions and sorry if it created any distress. --Sulmues Let's talk 14:14, 28 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Combined attempt to remove Madgearu's refs

edit

Just take a look here Talk:Gjin_Bua_Shpata (a combined attempt by several ips and accounts [[1]] to remove Madgearu's reference). Since you seem to know this historian better your opinion on the issue is necessary.Alexikoua (talk) 10:04, 25 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. I would appreciate if you present some additional info about Madgearu although I see that he is used as a secondary source in numerous Balkan articles (especially Romanian ones). Too bad someone was really eager to sent this article directly to speedy deletion: can you send some links with info about him?Alexikoua (talk) 22:41, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I've corrected the sentence, the initial snippet was about the Balsha.Alexikoua (talk) 22:57, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I see you were reverted in Frasheri. You should add the source, claiming that you read it in the edit summary isn't enough.Alexikoua (talk) 14:44, 12 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seems this article has been hit by a national block. I suggest you bring the case in wp:ani or wp:ae, since the mess is created by a specific user who's organizing a couple of users off wiki: see for example Sulmues' behavior in the article's talkpage: once he admitted that his coethnics were wrong and withdraw from the topic after two days of absence he returned in a second wave of national barrage, obviously someone advised him to 'forget' his past comments.Alexikoua (talk) 21:51, 16 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:10, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
