Welcome

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. To find out how to make useful contributions, take a look at the welcome page. To stay in Wikipedia, an article has to be about something notable, that is, of general interest. Click on Notability for an explanation of what that means, and on Notability (organizations and companies) for more detail. Also, it must give independently verifiable sources. Articles that don't meet these requirements are likely to be deleted. Follow the links below to learn more:

Notability of Granlia20

edit

A tag has been placed on Granlia20 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD (talk) 11:31, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

A Tale of Two Tibia's

edit

Hi Kimzen, I recently added a comment to the AFD for your Tibia article and I wanted to let you know that you are more than welcome to add any information you like to the more establishes Tibia (computer game) article. I'm sure you could make some fine additions there. On Wikipedia nobody "owns" any articles so you don't need to worry about changing or updating the work of others. I appreciate that your Tibia Game represents a lot of work and that it is one of your first contributions, but it's just not in Wikipedia's policies to have two articles covering the exact same subject. Think of it from the perspective of someone looking for gaming information on Tibia, that person would be forced to read the entirety of both articles to determine if one has more or different information than the other. It's a little confusing. I'm going to ask some of the primary editors of the other Tibia article if they can help incorporate any of your information into the main article and maybe even give you suggestions on areas they think the Tibia (computer game) article can be improved.

I hope the AfD doesn't turn you off to the project. You seem to have a lot to offer. --Torchwood Who? (talk) 15:09, 11 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Guitar hero 1 songs

edit

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Guitar hero 1 songs, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
