Hi, I really appreciate what you're doing on the Sollog article. Boilerplate message follows, since you're a fairly new user, no offense. Pakaran (ark a pan) 00:29, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Khalistani

Hi, I've replied to your message on my talk page. Sukh 16:19, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Khalistan

I've updated the Khalistan article. It still needs a bit of work but I've removed some questionable bits and details are on the talk page. The article seems reasonable NPOV to me. Sukh 18:53, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale

Hey,

I've just reviewed Jarnail_Singh_Bhindranwale and made some changes - mostly wikifying and converting it to Indian English (as is the policy with India related articles). However, I do feel the reference list is a bit lacking - I think more needs to be added. You may find [1] useful. It's quite long, but gives a good background and view of the entire situation (although I could be kidding myself, it's been a year since I last read it!). The references are poor so some stuff in it might need double checking. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 22:10, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, it was very hard for me to find neutral references. I will take a look at your source. Thanks a bunch! --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്)

DO NOT THREATHEN ME

Excuse me dont threaten me with your warnings, you are posting POV biased infomation. I have tried to give a balanced opinion. You add the term "Sikh terrorists" which is unacceptable and very offensive to Sikhs would you use the term "hindu terrorist" when tamil tigers, who are hindu, do terrorist attacks against Buddhist majority sri lanka? I dont think so... use your words with care or stay out of articles that don't concern you.

I'm not threatening you. I have warned you in accordance with Wikipedia policy. Any article on wikipedia can concern me. You have no say in what does, or does not concern me. I am going to seek arbitration in your matter. --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്)

adding Evidence

The arbitration tasks box is for open cases. It's not clear yet whether we will take this case or not. To help us decide, we ask for a summary of less than 500 words, rather than detailed evidence. -- sannse (talk) 09:36, 18 July 2005 (UTC)

Talwinder Singh Parmar

There are certain groups that nearly everyone calls terrorist: al-Qaeda, for instant. But "terrorist" is a very emotional term, and it isn't clearly defined. There is a great deal of controversy over whether some groups are terrorist or not. Generally, in Wikipedia, we use the term sparingly and only when necessary to get the point across. It's almost always better to say "The group has been accured of using terrorist tactics" or "He has been labelled a terrorist by the U.N." rather than "The terrorist group. . ."

I didn't mean to be rude when reverting your changes, and perhaps I should have explained myself better. Happy editing! – Quadell (talk) (sleuth) 02:33, July 19, 2005 (UTC)

Ok, that makes sense! --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്) 01:36, July 20, 2005 (UTC)

Excuse what did you say in my talk page?

Excuse me please do not accuse me of things to which you have no evidence to. You acting like Indian govt. Accusing people without evidence then being judge and jury and executioner.

Good day

--Thetruth 22:56, 22 July 2005 (UTC)

The edits that have been made, conform to the edits that you made previously, using your username. It is more than evident that you have vandalized the Nair page - the history shows that you did it with your username. It is highly improbable that an anonymous user would make the exact same edits that you have made - anyone can see that. Furthermore, your amusing statement about me acting like the "Indian Government" and accusing me of being "The judge, the jury, and the executioner" is a laughable hyberbole at best. It also only serves to show that it may very well be you making the edits, since it conforms to your view. This isn't very hard to prove. Also, you should know that the Indian media isn't state controlled - saying this shows a severe deficiency of information on your part. Also, I do not live in India. I live in the West - this is irrelevant since the sources of information open to you, would be open to me, were I in India. At any rate, the matter is undergoing arbitration. I am asking you right now to please discuss your changes instead of continuing down this completely unproductive path. --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്) 00:20, July 23, 2005 (UTC)
I find this all getting rather childish. I've proposed a solution! If you really are for 'thetruth', you shouldn't find anything I've said restrictive.
Plenty of Sikhs do not think the way you do... not even slightly. Some of your points are valid, but when bundled with often idiotic changes, they will simply be reverted. Do yourself a favour and resolve this like and adult. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 00:27, 23 July 2005 (UTC)
I have responded to your solution on Thetruth's talk page. I find it very reasonable and hopefully it should help us work together toward a consensus. --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്)

Pages protected

Hi,

I've had Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Operation Blue Star and Khalistan protected - all to the last version that wasn't blanket changed/vandalised. I suggest we have a few days to cool off so that everyone can calm down a little, and then we add WIP verions to the talk page. We can then follow the points I suggest on User_talk:Thetruth. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 23:48, 23 July 2005 (UTC)

Our friend has returned!

Hi,

This is just to inform you that our favourite friend has returned under the guise of Happytime. I'm pretty certain this is the same person as Thetruth — have a look at the Khalistan edits. The latest accusation:

"Sukh has been at an edit war for quite some time now. He just won't quit. I tried to reach an agreement but he is persistent in his ridiculous claims. Much dialogue has been done. Sukh is just out there to spread his pro-Sikh anti-hindu, anti-muslim biases throughout wikipedia."

Oh the joy of being a Wikipedian! Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 18:52, 27 August 2005 (UTC)

You may wish to add evidence at User:Sukh/Revert_War_Evidence. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 21:30, 10 September 2005 (UTC)
Hello Sukh, sorry about not being here for a while. My unit has been mobilized and I'm on my way to Iraq. But I will continue trying to edit from time to time. --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്)

Khalistan

Delighted to help. Rich Farmbrough 17:31, 1 October 2005 (UTC)

Hi,

I know the links are biased but I think they are important additions. As long as we have a range of views indicated in the links then I think we should leave them all in. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 13:37, 19 October 2005 (UTC)

Okeydoke, makes sense, although I cringe when I see anything that's so POV :p - wikipedian's knee-jerk response, I guess :) --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്) 14:37, 20 October 2005 (UTC)

Since your user page talks about Chendamangalam and Paliam - are you related to Ravi Achan ? Tintin Talk 01:51, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

Great to know that. I really want to meet him some time ! Tintin Talk 19:50, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. I am planning to write an article on Kerala cricket history and short articles on Ravi Achan and Balan Pandit sometime in the near future Tintin Talk 20:14, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Your signature

Hi! I think there may be a problem with your signature, which I've fixed on this page: [2]. Sukh | ਸੁਖ | Talk 23:13, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Sukh, I just realized it - and I'm not sure why it's doing that. It used to work fine before! --Vivin Paliath (വിവിന് പാലിയത്) 05:04, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

Nair

Hey Vivin, The Nair article is heavily slanted. The article as such doesn't recognise several sub-castes which the NSS guided Nairs think are inferior. This simply can't be so. The article sidelines many such sub-castes as "others" and is very particular about mentioning thier inferiority. That is why I think it is casteist. And you have witnessed the fervour of some to maintain their exclusivity from the untouchable strata. If these sub-castes go by the name of Nairs they should be categorised duly and not as an amorphous mass of "others". Secondly the categorisation those parties stick to is unrepresentative. I come from Calicut and am fairly familiar with Nair customs and traditions. Most of the categories they mention have no relevance here. Since you have started the article you could try to remove this slant. Kuntan 16:14, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Please note that the Totally Disputed Tag you put in section of Nair article has been removed by a vandal. Kuntan 08:33, 21 September 2006 (UTC)

I had visited your blog. At first I thought you were joking when you said you were in Iraq. All the best with your duties there.-- thunderboltz(Deepu) 06:59, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, you could get it to appear in green by simply using the font tags rather than the span tag. [[User:Vivin|Vivin Paliath ]]<font color="green">[[User:Vivin|(വിവി൯ പാലിയത്)]]</font> should appear as Vivin Paliath (വിവി൯ പാലിയത്). Just enable raw signature in your Special:Preferences and add the above code in the coloumn. Hope this helps. Rgds, -- thunderboltz(Deepu) 15:23, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Hinduism in Arab states

Hello,

I just wanted to question your addition of the following sentence to the article in question, "It is also the only country in the Middle East that allows Hindu Temples or Christian Churches on its soil." What made you think this was true? Having been to the Middle East, I know this is an incredibly ignorant statement that is either highly POV, malicious or just play uninformed. I see that you have been editing Wikipedia for quite some time and I would hope you would not write things like this by now.--Thomas.macmillan 08:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

Re: Nair

Hi! Welcome back! :) I will take a look at the Nair article soon. Regarding references: Yes, you should put them within the <ref> </ref> tags. To make them appear on the article, you should add <references/> to a new "References" section at the bottom. See here. Also see this guide. Still confused, drop me a note.--thunderboltz(Deepu) 15:31, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

re. Ezhava, I've been watching the article since your message, and there haven't been any problematic edits. If there is any more edit warring going on, I will protect the page until the issues have been resolved in the talk pages.--thunderboltz(Deepu) 15:25, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi! Do you mind setting up an email under Special:Preferences, so that other users can contact you personally?--thunderboltz(Deepu) 18:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Paliam naalukettu.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Paliam naalukettu.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:08, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Paliam_naalukettu.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Paliam_naalukettu.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 03:01, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

I removed the "PD-ineligible" tag as an image cannot be under a GFDL license and be in the public domain. Public domain is a release of all copyright claims. GFDL retains copyright but allows free use without seeking permission from the copyright holder. The "GFDL-self" tag is the better one to use. -Regards Nv8200p talk 15:31, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
