Logical quotation

edit

Hi there! I noticed in several of your recent edits that you changed the punctuation style of several quotations. The prevailing style on Wikipedia is to use logical quotation, in which all punctuation within a quotation has to be present in the source. For example,

The Gettysburg Address begins, "Four score and seven years ago."

is not logical quotation, and not the intended style for Wikipedia, because the source text does not contain a period in that place, but

The Gettysburg Address begins, "Four score and seven years ago".

is logical quotation and the intended style for Wikipedia. For more information, see MOS:LOGICAL. Hope that helps, and happy editing! Ibadibam (talk) 06:38, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
