Your edits to 2020 Russian Mil Mi-24 shootdown

edit

Hi there! I wanted to talk to you about your edits made to the 2020 Russian Mil Mi-24 shootdown article today. I was going to move forward with blocking you for 24 hours for edit warring, but I noticed that you self-reverted your last edit to the article with an edit summary describing how you want to avoid violating this policy. Though you had already sailed that ship earlier, it does show me that you got the message when you were warned and reported to the edit warring noticeboard, and hence I would like to simply talk to you and give you the opportunity to learn from this instead of moving forward with any sanctions.

Two important policies that you need to make sure that you've read and that you understand are Wikipedia's policy on edit warring, and the three-revert rule. Another important guideline that you should be aware of is Wikipedia's dispute resolution protocol, which provides a full in-depth guide with how to properly resolve a dispute with another editor. When another editor pings you on the article's talk page or leaves a message on your user talk page asking for you to discuss a dispute, you need to stop editing that particular article, discuss the dispute with them, and work things out peacefully.

On the article's talk page, Solavirum has started a discussion here and pinged you in the message in order to notify you of its existence. You have yet to respond to this discussion, and it appears that you continued to edit the article despite Solavirum's attempts to try and and work with you. That's not good, and it doesn't make you (or any other editor) look good when an admin sees this when they evaluate an edit warring report to decide proper action. Again, users in your situation would normally be blocked; I figured I'd guide you and help you instead.

Please take the time to read through the policies and the guideline I've linked you to. If you have any questions, please let me know - you can ask them by visiting my user talk page. Please do not continue to make reversions or other edits to the article until you've worked with Solavirum on the article's talk page. Solavirum has expressed many legitimate concerns with your edits, and it would be beneficial both to yourself as well as the community if you participated. Further issues with edit warring will likely lead to being blocked, so do be careful.

Thank you for your time, and I hope that you take my advice and that we don't have any more issues. :-) Best regards - ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 03:17, 10 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
