I've removed it for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. 2001:558:6045:A0:391F:B005:179D:8DD9 (talk) 02:27, 29 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

What Wikipedia is (and isn't)

edit

Hi...I took some time to look at your contributions to John McGlashan College. You write well. The only problem is, you seem to have a misconception as to what Wikipedia is. Wikipedia is a tertiary source. That is to say, we only report on what others have written about any given subject. In this case, you are writing about your personal experiences, and that is not allowed. What you can do is use your experiences to help you find newspapers, magazines and books that have written about John McGlashan College and use those to reference what you already know. Then you can write about it, but only those parts you can find references for. Hope that clears things up a bit. I am going to add a link to a really friendly help board for new editors, and I do hope you try to continue to add material to Wikipedia. When you have questions, come to the Teahouse and the many hosts there will try to help you with your questions. Gtwfan52 (talk) 00:08, 31 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

JMC article

edit

If you can't be realistic about this article please do not edit it. Another thing the other editors haven't noticed is that you are doing a copy-and-paste from the school website, which is a copyright violation. You have 3 different editors telling to you slow down on this, we have all done a lot more edits on wikipedia than you have so the odds are pretty good that we are in the right here.... - SimonLyall (talk) 10:29, 3 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
