Accountcreator?
I'm interested in helping out Wikipedia:Request an account. I'd be willing to do this as much as I assist in reverting vandalism. Would it be all right if I had the accountcreator flag? sanawon 02:16, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I see that you requested and were granted rollback with your fifteenth edit four days ago and that you've been granted access to the Toolserver tool, but based on your history here (only 277 edits and just 12 days), I'm not really comfortable granting this request. In another couple of weeks and after some good account creations (you can create 6 per day right now), I'd be much more likely to give it to you. WODUP 02:42, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for your time. sanawon 02:51, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
If you could delete that, I would be great. Thanks LegoKontribsTalkM 02:20, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Help with Motto of the Day
No one is updating it anymore, apparently. We've run out of mottoes. I guess the next step is to start looking at some of the ones that were proposed and see if we can approve a few for use, to at least fill out the rest of this month. Enigma message 07:25, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

OK, so you said that you can't justify a block to him; it's OK... But of course, if he continues on doing inappropriate content, then you'll block him, right? Blake Gripling (talk) 08:36, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Of course. The user didn't edit at all after the second message, but now knows (or should know) that continuing to create inappropriate pages results in a block. If the user continues, leave another note at WP:AIV. WODUP 08:47, 4 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks and one more question
Thanks for the assistance with category removal. Does |category= work with all templates? Dbiel (Talk) 04:46, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- No, the right code has to be in the template. You can see that code as it was added to the template here. That edit created the category parameter for the template with a default value of Category:Editor handbook. You can even override this by adding that code or change the category by adding
|category=[[Category:Foo]]
You can learn more about templates by reading through Help:Template and pages linked from there, or if there's anything more I can do to help, please let me know. WODUP 05:21, 4 September 2008 (UTC)- Thanks again for the additional information. Dbiel (Talk) 19:30, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Pretzels - Main Page Redesign
Hi WODUP, You left some really useful comments on my Main Page redesign on 7 September 2008. Since then, my design has been updated and some of them no longer make sense!
To keep my proposal's section from getting clogged with old commentary I've been clearing out remarks on older layouts. I've marked the comments I think you will no longer stand by with strikethrough, but not deleted them - please drop me a note to my talk to say if you're ok for me to remove them or not.
Many thanks WODUP; I hope you'll be back soon to help out with my latest proposal! Your comments are much appreciated. PretzelsTalk! 15:56, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Reverting edits User talk:75.15.81.46
My mistake for falsely accusing the editor of vandalism. The link seemed like a joke/hoax, i.e. http://www.gay-art-history.org/gay-history/gay-customs/japan-samurai-male-love/japan-samurai-homosexual-shudo.html
Unfortunately this is one of the few occasions that a good-faith editor has accidentally been bitten. I've subsequently welcomed and apologized to the user. --Flewis(talk) 05:53, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- I've reverted good edits as vandalism before, too. Unfortunately, it happens sometimes in the fast-paced world of RCP. I think that you handled this little mistake well, and our anonymous friend doesn't seem too shaken up about it; that's good. Thank you. WODUP 08:20, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Main Page Redesign
Hey WODUP, I've updated my Main Page Redesign proposal substantially, and you had some really great points last time you commented - hopefully you'll see the effects of your suggestions. Proposed expansion of CSD R2
I share your sentiment, expressed at RfD recently, that "I'm surprised these aren't speediable" (re mainspace redirects to images); as a consequence, I've started a discussion at Wikipedia_talk:Criteria_for_speedy_deletion#Proposal:_expand_R2_to_Image_namespace to see if there's support for expanding R2 to cover this case. Please feel free to comment there if you believe your opinion would be useful. — Gavia immer (talk) 19:21, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

- Ahahaha, oh, Jimbo... In all truth, I was so confused when it happened, I thought I had broken Huggle by reverting too much. I checked my page to find an actual block, and immediately burst out in laughter (which surprised everybody around me). Man, I do this a ton with vandalism reverting; I click too fast and I don't realize I've reverted and warned a perfectly good edit. DARTH PANDAtalk 00:36, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

- You're welcome. Dealing with vandalism and personal attacks like that shouldn't be a problem, though. Those kinds of edits can always be reverted, and the user warned and reported. WODUP 07:24, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

- Thank you. That was some sort of fluke. I looked over the code, found nothing wrong, looked over it some more. I changed how the regex does something with matching if the user has already been notified and I think it should be all good. Do not hesitate to block if it does this again (but it shouldn't). A question
Just curious - is your username ("Wikipedia. One dream. Unlimited possibilities.") an acronym or a backronym? — neuro(talk) 22:56, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
- It is a backronym. When I had to choose a name, I considered a lame joke where the punchline formed the acronym WOD. That didn't seem right as a username (and was too similar to the existing account User:Wod), so I added UP, so it kind of sounds like "What up?". It wasn't until recently that I thought of the backronym. – wodup – 08:17, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

thank you
My RFA passed today at 150/48/6. I wanted to thank you for weighing in on the RFA--I will do everything I can to uphold the policies of this site, and try to make it a better place. All the comments, questions, and in particular the opposes I plan to work on and learn from, so that I can hopefully always do the right thing with the huge trust given to me. rootology (C)(T) 08:32, 1 February 2009 (UTC) |

WW notices
Hey there WODUP. This is concerning your bots notices to user talk pages about new episodes of Wikipedia Weekly. I was wondering if you could remove one of the –'s from the bots sig. It is currently – [[User:WODUPbot|wodupbot]] – DATE
Could you remove the second –. My reason for this is it causes some archive listing bots to not recognise the date stamp. I look forward to your reply. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 20:40, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Acctually thinking about it it could be because the notice
You're receiving this because you're listed on Wikipedia:WikiProject WikipediaWeekly/delivery. If you'd like to stop receiving these messages, please remove yourself from that list.
comes after the sig. anyway it would be brilliant if it could maybe be moved around. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 20:44, 10 February 2009 (UTC)- Hi there. I changed it, but I'm curious where you see this happening. MiszaBot III and ClueBot III both seem to be archiving properly. – wodup – 21:13, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- sorry I do not mean the archive bots I mean the indexer bots/bot ( User:HBC_Archive_Indexerbot ). If you order thi page in order of date you will either see the Wikipedia Weekly notices at the top or bottom. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 21:19, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I see that it was fine until I changed the signature. I changed it on your talk page to just WODUPbot; I have a feeling that the indexerbot will pick it up correctly on its next pass. Sorry for the trouble. – wodup – 04:04, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Suspension of admin privileges due to inactivity
Following a community discussion in June 2011, consensus was reached to provisionally suspend the administrative privileges of users who have been inactive for one year, meaning administrators who have made neither any edits nor any logged actions in over one year. As a result of this discussion, your administrative privileges have been removed pending your return. If you wish to have these privileges reinstated, please post to the Wikipedia:Bureaucrats' noticeboard and the userright will be restored per the re-sysopping process (i.e., as long as the attending bureaucrats are reasonably satisfied that your account has not been compromised and that your inactivity did not have the effect of evading scrutiny of any actions which might have led to sanctions). This removal of access is procedural only, and not intended to reflect negatively upon you in any way. We wish you the best in future endeavors, and thank you for your past administrative efforts. RL0919 (talk) 22:24, 9 July 2011 (UTC)
Notice of change
Hello. You are receiving this message because of a recent change to the administrator policy that alters what you were told at the time of your desysopping. The effect of the change is that you will not longer be able to request restoration of the tools because of your prior inactivity. You have until December 30, 2012 to request restoration or else the policy will prevent you from doing so in the future; you would need to seek a new WP:RFA. Until December 30, you can file a request at WP:BN for review by the crats. Thank you. MBisanz talk 04:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
