WikiProject L&O/Fen Editing Feedback

edit

Thank you for your valuable edits on the Wikipedia Fen page! I and other members of the WikiProject Limnology and Oceanography community are grateful for your time and effort. For your reference, I am a graduate student of Limnology and Oceanography at the University of Minnesota and my professional interests lie in carbon cycling and analytical chemistry.

This article is particularly well-written. I particularly appreciate your addition of an expansive discussion of the definitions of Fens and the section on major element biogeochemistry. I found very few mistakes in grammar, spelling, or encyclopedic writing style. There are sufficient citations, and you appear to have engaged extensively with the published academic literature. The article could use a few more Wikilinks and explanations of technical jargon (e.g. "anaerobic"), but this is a very common critique of academics' writing on Wikipedia.

This article could also benefit from diagrams and in-line photos. The images section at the end has some useful images, but these might best accompany the text above to prevent it from looking like a wall of text. This is more of an opinion, however.

Thank you once again for contributing to one of the worlds largest and most accessible storehouses of information! Your instructor (who is a very good scientific writer in his own right) should be proud. OHClNaMg (talk) 15:52, 18 April 2021 (UTC)Reply

DYK for Fen

edit

On 22 April 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Fen, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that fens are fed by mineral-rich groundwater, while bogs are fed by mineral-poor precipitation? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Fen. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Fen), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
