Speedy deletion nomination of John harrison finger

edit

Hello Walking High Point,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged John harrison finger for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Geohakkeri (talk) 16:46, 30 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:John Finger with his Bible.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. Be careful about implying "ownership" or having a "conflict of interest"

edit

Hi Walking High Point. I see you've been primarily editing the article John Harrison Finger and a couple of times, such as in this edit sum and this WP:MCQ post, you've referred to the article as "my article". You should know that per WP:OWN, we don't own the articles we create or edit and, therefore, do not have any specific editorial control over them. Once an article has been added to Wikipedia, it's there for anyone to edit as they please, good or bad, and no particular editor has "final approval" over any edits except in cases where Wikipedia's policies and guidelines are clearly violated. Just thought you should be aware of this because posting things such as "my article" can sometimes lead to misunderstandings with other editors.

Also, from the above and the copyright information you've provided in images such as File:John H. Finger before his first walk.jpg and File:John H. Finger in garage.jpg is seem that you might be in some way connected to Mr. Finger, perhaps professionally or personally. If that's the case, then you should also be advised that you would considered to have a conflict of interest regarding the article and, thus, should probably refrain from making any further changes/additions (including adding images) to it without first discussing them on the article's talk page. Although COI is not expressly prohibited, it is highly discouraged because it can be hard for a COI editor to edit according to WP:V and WP:NPOV. Even the appearance of a COI can lead to problems with other editors, so I suggest you take a look at Wikipedia's plain and simple conflict of interest guide if you do have a COI so that you understand what kinds of edits COI editors can make. - Marchjuly (talk) 01:32, 13 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
