Deletion discussion about Aaron Leupp

edit

Hello, WathingMog,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Aaron Leupp should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aaron Leupp .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of Robert Paddock

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Robert Paddock requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. A tag has been placed on Robert Paddock, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Robert Paddock

I have declined (refused) the speedy deletion requests, but on the matter of promotion, this article does have an issue. Such phrases as Paddock pioneered online learning with high completion rates., Paddock's tailored approach menat completion rates on GetSmarter were around 88%, and he high completion rates were seen as a major selling point are rather promotional, particularly when not (yet) supported by any independent source. Please tone done the language and improve the sourcing when you can. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 21:18, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Thank you, I was just trying to work on the language, but great to get some positive news.WathingMog (talk) 21:26, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
You are welcome. Don't wait too long, or someone may nominate for deletion.
By the way, if you reply to someone who leaves a message on your talk page, and you want to increase the chance that that person sees your reply, you can ping that editor by placing the editor's username in one of the templates, {{U}}, {{ping}}, or {{re}}, and signing the comment with four tildes (~~~~. (The wiki software converts this to your signature and a timestamp.) This would, look like ({{U|Example}}, ({{ping|Example}}, or ({{re|Example}}. These all work the samew way, sending a notifivcation to User:Example (if the ping is signed), only the display formatting is different. This can be very helpful. Proposed deletion of Alena Afanaseva

edit

The article Alena Afanaseva has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Promotional page. No evidence of independent third-party coverage in WP:RSes, just in crypto media and promotional placements. Needs substantial biographical coverage in RSes to have an article about a living person.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hello WathingMog. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Alena Afanaseva, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:WathingMog. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=WathingMog|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. David Gerard (talk) 20:29, 7 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I'm Scope creep. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Contact Center as a service have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. scope_creepTalk 12:24, 14 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
