Read it in one go (about 4 hours) a few weeks back. Wow; apart from the gripping storyline he had our community down pat. I recognised a few peeps...for one he seemed to deliberately mix up Jimmy's failings with NYB's community-wide respect:) I have to say I liked it a lot: it was uncomfortably like looking into a mirror at times, although I am neither a NYC born communist shill or a spy catcher, but the quite satisfaction of that older dude in the rust-belt is totally me when tracking down sources.[1] <glee> Ceoil (talk) 13:23, 21 September 2024 (UTC)

Thanks, I've now finished the review which took me rather longer than reading the book, but life intervened. I agree that some of the composite characters can be discerned, I was half expecting to come across Pebbles Alabama, doyenne of high quality content. Obviously I'm jumping on some of what to me are differences, but there are some real insights there as well, and yes the story gripped me. ϢereSpielChequers 21:33, 9 October 2024 (UTC)
