Speedy deletion nomination of LIFX
editHello WesterlyRider,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged LIFX for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Barney the barney barney (talk) 16:58, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Best not to remove speedy delete notices from your WP:SPAM, you should think. Barney the barney barney (talk) 17:48, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- I have no idea what you're talking about. I didn't remove the speedy notice because it told me not to. User:CyberXRef removed the speedy notice in this edit. WesterlyRider (talk) 17:59, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- And how can you accuse the article of being spam??? Christ man, there is nothing flattering about the company in the article, and it even mentions how the company has failed to follow through on a kickstarter campaign. WesterlyRider (talk) 18:13, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Lover.ly
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Lover.ly requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. TheLongTone (talk) 17:27, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
Hello, WesterlyRider,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether LIFX should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/LIFX .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks, Barney the barney barney (talk) 18:02, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
- Sorry the process in a bit impersonal/antagonistic. Other editors will look at it and decide. Please understand that we get a lot of spam, and we have to deal with it. Also understand that the rules against spam are there to protect the companies who are promoting themselves from the legal issues (i.e. advertising law) as much as they are to keep low quality articles out of the encyclopedia. - okay, alright, I get it. I think my hackles got raised a bit considering these are some of my first significant contributions. Thanks for explaining. Maybe companies aren't the best choice for my first articles.WesterlyRider (talk) 18:17, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
