Tagishsimon (talk) 20:36, 8 September 2020 (UTC)Disambiguation link notification for March 18
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of alumni of the Courtauld Institute of Art, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Julian Gardner. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Nathaniel Lloyd (architectural historian) moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Nathaniel Lloyd (architectural historian), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. Specifically, an entire paragraph was pulled verbatim from https://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/matpc/background.html which is in violation of wikipedia's copyright policies. Bungle (talk • contribs) 14:38, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- The couple of sentences related to factual information regarding the collection in the LOC. It was put within quotation marks and attributed in the citation. Is this not sufficient? Westlondonlady (talk) 14:54, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- I don't think it's appropriate to try and pass an entire paragraph of prose as being a "quotation", as it isn't a quote someone said or even attributed directly to an individual. It was standard prose that was copied verbatim from a source and it's not appropriate. There is no reason you could not paraphrase this to achieve the same result, as you aren't needing to relay spoken or written words. It's only a small amount and easily remedied, but I don't see why you can't paraphrase the same thing. Bungle (talk • contribs) 15:02, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
