Image layout algorithms moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Image layout algorithms, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. "Bespoke futuristic children's illustration style" images

edit

… on End-of-history illusion among others. I think they're wonderful. So thanks! --Ernstkm (talk) 15:48, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

You're welcome Ernstkm! I originally created these visualizations to help game developers understand their own psychology: why video game projects are abandoned as unfinished creative work so frequently.
I'm glad you enjoy them :) Wesxdz (talk) 02:11, 14 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

These AI generated cartoons are an interesting approach to illustrating abstract concepts, but I'm not sure that they really do the job. If you don't have a particular vision in mind and ask the AI to draw you something based on a very general description like a woman's exterior appearance is not reflective of her internal state (as you did for illusion of transparency), the AI isn't always going to come up with a useful insight.

exterior appearance is not reflective of her internal state also seems too a broad description of the illusion of transparency, to the point where the illustration generated at File:Illusion of transparency.png seems to have it backwards: it's suggesting a woman who is privately very sad (the big background face) and where others can only see her neutral expression (the glasses signifying that the smaller face is the perceived reality), it doesn't seem to say anything about how she thinks other people see her. --Belbury (talk) 10:02, 26 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Belbury these illustrations are not direct AI outputs, but the result of an iterative process using multiple AI models, Krita, img2img...
if the illustrations are not able to capture the nuances of the cognitive biases, it is primarily due to a lack of time to make more sophisticated scenes or edit all 50+ I made...
whether cognitive biases can or should be grounded by scene representations of physical entities, and which ones, and if that is something that should go on Wikipedia is certainly an open question Wesxdz (talk) 00:47, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
it's okay if you feel the need to remove this work from Wikipedia to make it more. neutral, as it's really just for a personal telos that knowledge should be embedded in the world to help people Wesxdz (talk) 00:51, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I see, I took the Unknown environmental hazards endanger a woman's mental model of the world. Bespoke futuristic children's illustration style file descriptions to be the entirety of the prompts you were using. Commons AI policy encourages stating the prompt and AI software used in full, if you want to update the descriptions.
This is definitely a useful direction for illustration of psychological concepts, certainly better in many cases than user-created sketches. But such images need to be created with care if they are to help the reader understand the article. A purely decorative image that broadly illustrates the concept of a person thinking about time or danger is at best uninformative and at worst (when it slightly contradicts what the article is actually saying) a barrier to the reader understanding the subject. Proposed deletion of Open-endedness

The article Open-endedness has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

stub that just repeats whats in open-ended landing page

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. BLAR notice

edit

Hi there. While reviewing new pages, I noticed that a page you created, Open-endedness, likely does not meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines as a standalone article (and frankly, made no sense and offered no indication of what the concept meant). As an alternative to deletion, I've redirected it to Open-ended. If you disagree, feel free to revert my redirect and we can proceed to a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion.
