Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Business plan. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. --AbsolutDan (talk) 00:08, 8 August 2006 (UTC)
Please stop adding commercial links to Wikipedia, as you did in Startup company. It is considered spamming, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising. Thanks. --AbsolutDan (talk) 16:32, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Hello,
In response to your message on my talk page, the above messages are not my own wording; they are part of the standard warnings for inserting spam links. The templates have changed slightly, but they are {{spam-n}} and {{spam2-n}}, respectively.
Spamming at Wikipedia includes inserting links to websites that you are affiliated with, as well as adding links to the same site on multiple Wikipedia articles. If you would like your link to be included on a particular article, the accepted compromise is for you to list the link on the article's talk page and wait for other neutral editors to determine if it should be included or not. As we are aiming for a print version, Wikipedia is in need of more properly cited content from reliable sources, not more bare external links. --AbsolutDan (talk) 23:03, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
If you're interested in improving Wikipedia you may wish to place some or all of the information from your website onto the Wikipedia articles (as long as they are written in an encyclopaedic style and are factual and verifiable). -- Moondyne 01:04, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
