Welcome!

edit

Hello, Whateverittakesitwhatever, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Young Global Leaders, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! :Jay8g [VTE] 19:49, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for reaching out. I'm not actually an employee of the World Economic Forum if that's what you're suggesting so not sure what conflict is envisioned. I'm also not sure why my user handle suggests I am from a corporation - to make things clear, I am not and have never been an employee. My handle is actually a play on an Imagine Dragons song, so it is as un-corporation-like for handles as they can come. This is my own personal account so there is thankfully no chance of anyone else using my account to make the edits.
On the prospect of my edits being deleted, I'm happy for my edits to be deleted or refined if there are more on-point edits that others can make. I'm just dedicating myself to editing the page because I am interested in the subject and I notice the webpage has not been updated for eons so it warranted a refresh. So, the more people edit, including deleting my additions and replacing them with even more refined ones, the better. I do want to say though that some of my edits are critical, including adding criticism of the subject, so it would be unfortunate if anyone edited my contributions on the premise it is too one-sided, especially if they wrongly assume I am an employee. I'm actually hoping others can also include some more critical pieces and some positive pieces to make the entry in question even more comprehensive.
I'm hoping that clarifies the matter. Thank you nonetheless for articulating your concerns which I understand given the number of edits I made. I am quite obsessive compulsive that way. I would like to think the edits have only enhanced the contents of the page in question but of course, I come with a bias. A bias not from the perspective of being from the organization since I am not but from the perspective of subjectively hoping that all of my contributions represent a nett positive.
