I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
Additional tips
editHere's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Orangey
editHey. You're right, it is kind of a lot of fuss for a cat :P. Anyways, with a couple of page deletes and moves, I've managed to put the article at Orangey with a redirect at Orangy. It wasn't really that much of a problem. BTW, you were welcomed by Kf4bdy, not me. Welcome to Wikipedia :) — Ilyanep (Talk) 22:05, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
- Note to whoever handles this request: the IP should probably be anon-only if we have users editing from it, and also there is a discussion on unblock-en-l regarding unblocking some of the cplot ranges. ST47Talk 01:44, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
((unblock-auto|1=24.13.104.209|2=Ranged used by Cplot|3=Raul654))
btw when I was blocked before in an IP range block, the note above says should probably be anon-only. But now I've been blocked again while signed in so either that's a mistake or it's not any more the policy to block only anon users in a suspect ip range? Thanks Wichienmaat 04:01, 21 April 2007 (UTC)
- Fixed. Sorry about that -- we were having some serious problems at the time. There's a breif and (rather incomplete) history at Wikipedia:Long term abuse/Cplot. At some point or other I asked Raul about releasing the rangeblocks, and he had no objections at the time. No problems, since. Somehow we missed this one, I guess. Let us know if you have any more problems editing.
Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Orangey wakes Audrey Breakfast@Tiffanys still.jpg
editThank you for uploading Image:Orangey wakes Audrey Breakfast@Tiffanys still.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 13:30, 10 November 2008 (UTC)
