DYK nomination

I have nominated C. R. formula, an article you created, for DYK nominations. I do hope that your article passes, as I just wanted to give a heads-up on it. Thanks, ConCompS (Talk to me) 23:22, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Just as an update, ALT2 looks much better. Thanks for suggesting that. ConCompS (Talk to me) 13:54, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Dravidian parties and Tamil cinema and Dravidian politics

Hi! I have just finished my most recent project, so I will start work on these two artices right away. I'll let you know when completed. Thank you for the suggestion.--Diannaa (talk) 01:56, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Hi! Thanks for your encouraging remarks. My dad is sick so I have not had as much time as usual to devote to Wikipedia, but I will continue to plug away at your articles as time permits.--Diannaa (talk) 01:14, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
The article Dravidian parties has now had its copy edit. It might be a good idea to check it over and make sure none of my changes resulted in factual errors. By the way, it is not necessarily helpful to have knowledge of the subject matter to do the copy edit. It could even be better if the editor does not know the topic, as it makes it easier to spot areas that need clarification for readers that do not know the topic well. --Diannaa (talk) 02:37, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Tamil cinema and Dravidian politics has now been copy edited and is ready for your review. My dad is now out of hospital and recovering at home. Thanks for your interest. Good luck with your quest for good article status!  :) --Diannaa (talk) 22:38, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, the article is quite good. Sorry for the late reply. I do not have internet connection in Bangalore and had to log in from net cafes. By the way, could you review V. S. Srinivasa Sastri according to WP:GAN-The EnforcerOffice of the secret service 07:43, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

DYK for C. R. formula

Updated DYK query On December 18, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article C. R. formula, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check ) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

Thamizhaga Munnetra Munnani

Can this be classified as a Dravidian Party?. It was a splinter of Congress, composed of the Sivaji fans associations and people who walked out of congress with sivaji. Dont we consider a Dravidian party to be a one which can trace its lineage back to Dravidar kazhagam?.--Sodabottle (talk) 14:04, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

Well, in my opinion it is a Dravidian party but there wouldn't be any RS from my side to back it. I listed it in the {{Dravidian parties}} not because of my personal opinion but since it was already under that CAT. I would consider it as a Dravidian party because it roots back to Tamil National Party (which was undoubtedly a Dravidian party) which was merged with Congress. But that is just plain logical reasoning. Feel free to remove it from the list of DPs if you think otherwise. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 14:24, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

infobox

you seem to be good at making templates. could you pls consider making a template for defunct Indian political parties? --CarTick 01:11, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Sure, but I know nothing about the topic. Are all of them listed here? Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 08:58, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
{{Infobox political party}} may be used as a starting material. all irrelevant fields can be removed and relevant ones added. for example, fields such as founders, first president, last president, notable leaders can be added. fields such as seats can be removed. well, we can discuss more as it starts to take shape. --CarTick 14:14, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
I guess I should have earlier misunderstood. I was under an impression that you wanted a navigation box. I have never done a infobox earlier. I can give it a go and see. I'm not an IT guy as you know well. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 06:33, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
sorry. no problem. yes i know. may be i should place a note at the notice board. --CarTick 12:10, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I might try to see if I can. Keeping my fingers crossed. Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 13:39, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

File:Lat2aa.jpg

I have removed the FfD tag you placed on File:Lat2aa.jpg, because you never actually added the nomination to Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2008 June 29. If you still think the image needs to be deelted, feel free to re-nominate it. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 12:46, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for uploading File:S. Subramania Iyer statue.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. ww2censor (talk) 20:49, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Wikiality123 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

My IP has been autoblocked. The IP underquestion is 128.240.229.3 which is a shared IP of Newcastle University. Obviously an autoblock of this IP needs to be removed. Cheers

Decline reason:

Could you please use {{unblock-auto}} instead? That will give us far more information in a better layout than what you can relay in a standard unblock request. (As an aside, that IP's block log appears bugged; it's showing a block that expired ~10 days ago as still active.) —Jeremy (v^_^v Dittobori) 17:00, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

The block seems to have been raised now, but I don't understand the reason for the decline. Can you please explain? Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 10:17, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

To lift an autoblock or grant IP block exemption, we need the following bits of info at a minimum - your IP, the message that appears when you try to edit a page, and the blocking administrator (especially if it's a Checkuser block). The unblock-auto template has spaces for all of these, if I'm not mistaken, and done up in a format that allows a reviewing administrator to easily understand the situation. —Jeremy (v^_^v Dittobori) 16:43, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:06, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:DMK Rising Sun.png

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:DMK Rising Sun.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 20:12, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:DMDK flag.PNG, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://thatstamil.oneindia.in/img/2009/05/27-dmdk-flag200.jpg, though a smaller representation it's obvious the uploader is not the creator. As a copyright violation, File:DMDK flag.PNG appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:DMDK flag.PNG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Hammersoft (talk) 14:09, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

[Ad hominem]? Its the other way around. Thatstamil took it from here. Look at the date on the link and the one on the image. As simple as that. --Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 14:12, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
  • No it's not an ad hominem attack. Look, the reason we have contribution histories of editors is so we can review their edits for other problems. I am finding a number of problems with your file uploads. This flag is blatantly not your own creation, but copied from the party. It's all over the place, as [1] this search shows. You didn't create this from your own creativity, but copied it from someone else. That is a blatant violation of copyright. If you persist in removing the tag, you leave me no choice but to report this to WP:AN/I. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:14, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Same issue applies to File:AIADMK flag.PNG. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:18, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

You can report it to anywhere you want. I know that I created it. You can look at the dates and then see where it comes from. Once again, this was created using powerpoint and paint brush. You can delete it as a low quality picture but as me pinching it from other sites is close to a joke. Anyways, I got to split off now. You have fun and trust me when I say that it would be easy for me to prove that I created this image. I strongly recommend you to look at the dates on the websites and the date of uploading on wikipedia. Who copied who would be rather clear. Cheers --Wiki San Roze †αLҝ 14:22, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:Saint Alphonsa in her coffin.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Saint Alphonsa in her coffin.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. This also applies to:

Saying you received an e-mail granting permission is meaningless to us. We have to be able to independently verify the license. Our m:OTRS team can do that. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:27, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
