Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Chumki Datta

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Chumki Datta, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.   Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Draft:Chumki Datta. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. Please don't copy material you find elsewhere online

Hello. I am Diannaa and I am a Wikipedia administrator. Prose you find online is almost always copyright, and cannot be copied here; it's against the copyright policy of this website to do so. All prose must be written in your own words. The Wikipedia copyright policy and its application are complex matters, and you should not edit any more until you have taken the time to read and understand our copyright policy. There's a simplified version of our copyright rules at Wikipedia:FAQ/Copyright. Further copyright issues will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa (talk) 22:13, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission, as you did at SBI Youth for India. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  DanCherek (talk) 02:39, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
{{unblock|reason=I am still blocked. You have already removed all the content.I have also sent you the read guidelines.Plus why are you writing block evasion on someone else's edit with my name,I am blocked as well as my IP by you.You are literallty running a propanganda and destroying the page at your will. This is literally pathetic .You have even removed edits from 5 years ago. Wikichumki (talk) 12:19, 26 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I have not copied anything. You are unecessaraily trying to block me.I have been editing on Wikipedia for years and I know all the guidelines.I f youu think the text was copied you can remove the text but why block? Wikichumki (talk) 04:42, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Copyright violations potentially put Wikipedia in legal jeopardy, so we must act to prevent such violations from occurring. To unblock you we must convinced that you understand what copyright is, what Wikipedia's license is, and when and how copyrighted content may be used on Wikipedia. Please answer these questions in your own words in a new request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 04:59, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Since you have already removed the copyrighted content ,at least unblock me.further I am a representative of SBI youth for India and I hold the copyright for the information.

Decline reason:

Being the copyright holder does not help as the text is still copyrighted. You have to release the text under a free license to solve the problem. You have not answered 331dot's questions. I am declining your unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 16:53, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

The text I removed was not only from SBI Youth for India's website, but also from a news article published by Business Standard. DanCherek (talk) 16:54, 25 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

This is what I have read. One of Wikipedia's most significant features is that, subject to the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported Licence (CC BY-SA) and, unless otherwise noted, the GNU Free Documentation Licence (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts), anyone may freely redistribute, reuse, and build upon its text. Contributors consent to release their original work under both licences when they submit it, and as long as proper acknowledgment is given, content from public domain or other similarly licenced sources may also be used in compliance with the copyright policy. However, unless it's a brief quotation used in compliance with Wikipedia's non-free content policy and guidelines, copying text without the consent of the copyright owners from sources that are not in the public domain or that are not compatiblely licenced is likely to be a copyright violation. If there is significant linguistic similarity in creative language or sentence structure, even incorporating copied text with some alterations can violate copyright; this is known as close paraphrasing, which can also raise plagiarism issues. Because copyright infringement not only make Wikipedia less redistributable but also raise legal problems, such instances should be taken carefully.
