Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Wikieditormneal. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 17:41, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

It's patently obvious that you have some connection to the topic of Draft:Lorraine Whittlesey – you've made no edit relating to any other topic. If you are being paid to edit that page you are required under our Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation; if you have some other connection (such as a family relationship) you are expected to disclose it – here on this page is fine for now. Please do not make any further edit on this topic before you make whichever disclosure is applicable. Thank you, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 11:01, 27 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Thanks for doing this (it should have been the first thing you did). I've taken the liberty of fixing the syntax so that it displays correctly. You should now copy it to your user-page, User:Wikieditormneal, and preferably also to the talk-page of the draft. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:33, 4 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Lorraine Whittlesey moved to draftspace

edit

Thanks for your contributions to Lorraine Whittlesey. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is an autobiography, and creating autobiographies is strongly discouraged in this project. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 19:37, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

It has come to my attention that I’m being told by another Wikipedia Editor that I need to continue editing under the page created “Lorraine_Whittlesey”. When editing and submitting under the page “Lorraine_Whittlesey” Wikipedia redirects me back to the original page to continue editing when trying to move the page to mainspace. Please advise as to which page I should continue to make the necessary edits needed before moving the page to mainspace so I’m not making edits on the wrong page. Thank you for assisting me with this process. Wikieditormneal (talk) 14:42, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Lorraine Whittlesey. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.

Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continued disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Stop recreating this. It's been moved to draft for a reason. Meters (talk) 20:10, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you. I truly appreciate your assistance. I'm not seeing where the article has been moved to draft on my end. Each time I search for the subject it takes me back to the same page in which I made the edits. Please advise as to what the next steps would be, so I don't continue to make edits that appear to be recreating this subject. Wikieditormneal (talk) 20:18, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
The draft is here: Draft:Lorraine_Whittlesey It was moved there at 19:37 [1] You recreated it in article space at 19:45 https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lorraine_Whittlesey&action=history Meters (talk) 21:25, 25 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand. Who is telling you to edit Lorraine Whittlesey? Not me. And there is only one copy now, at Draft:Lorraine Whittlesey. I already gave you this link. The copy you made in article space was deleted before you made your above post.
I would strongly suggest that you not move the draft back to article space yourself. Instead when you think it is ready you should submit it for review. Meters (talk) 18:16, 26 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
