Paid editor?
editAre you being paid by an institution or individual to edit en-Wikipedia for their benefit? JoJo Anthrax (talk) 12:42, 7 June 2018 (UTC)
No, I am not. Just editing because I noticed some missing info.
- Thank you for your response. As a reminder, it is good form to sign your talk page entries by adding four tildes at the end of your text.
- I am happy to learn that you are not being paid for your edits. In reviewing your contributions I assume you are a new editor to Wikipedia. If so, welcome to the project. The reason I asked if you were being paid (or otherwise compensated) is that your edits are rich in promotional and/or editorial content. Because those edits seem to be focused upon a single subject (the University of Rochester) they are precisely the type of contributions often associated with editors being paid to add content to Wikipedia; e.g., public relations agents.
- As you know, this is an encyclopedia. It is not a promotional webpage. The tone and content here needs to be neutral, with all information supported by reliable sources. If you continue to add promotional content, especially if it is either unsourced or sourced solely to UR press releases, you will likely find it removed. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 20:13, 7 June 2018 (UTC)

editHello, Wikifacteditors. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 19:50, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
- Notwithstanding denial of paid association, COI is apparent. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 19:50, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
