Chiff

edit

Apparently, in the realm of music, of woodwind instruments, and, of flutes and whistles, such as tinwhistles or pennywhistles, in particular; A term, or word, apparently known and spelled as "chiff", c-h-i-f-f, exists, which apparently has to do with an as yet undefined quality of sound.

Apparently, the only known (to this editor) reference is to an Internet web site, known as Chiff and Fipple; http://www.chiffandfipple.com

Therefore, just what could a definition of chiff mean?

I thank you, as I was not aware of a distinction, in regard to Wikipedia and Wiktionary (sometimes life gets confusing!).Wikipedia.doug 02:46, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
