Hello, Wikiskimmer, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!  With what you are writing in Formica, you are being very modest when you say you are not an expert on ants. Have fun contributing, let me know if I can help you. You just add a note on my talk page and add four ~ signs and you should get a signature. You can figure the rest such as citing references as you go along. Cheers. I moved your comment

edit

Hi, I moved your comment from my Userpage User talk:Mdd to the Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Systems because that was the place the first talk started. It's custom in Wikipedia to keep this talks together on one place. With the Watch-function in the Wiki-program you can monitor these places and see if anybody has responded. Good luck. - Mdd 22:08, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Slime Mould

edit

What do you have in mind for the slime mould page? I think it would be a mistake to make one article from all the current ones. I recently created acrasin and was thinking about adding to this from some of the other articles and tidying up, so I'd be happy to take from your lead. I cleaned up a bit the slime mold article and I added a few "rename", "split" and "merge" templates. If you do not mind having a look? --Kupirijo (talk) 20:36, 3 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Clade

edit

Hi wikiskimmer, I don't want to trouble you with this, but if you think Template_talk:Clade might be a mechanism that you would like to use, just let me know and I can help out with it. Cheers. Shyamal 06:11, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

you can tell i'm sick of phylogeny, eh? well when i get past that, the template will be fun to play with. thanks.Wikiskimmer 06:17, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
or do i respond on YOUR page. this wiki thing is too complicated.Wikiskimmer 06:17, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
You can respond in either place. It is nice to keep the discussion threads in one place. Not to worry, everything is reversible here so no need to fear experiments in learning ! Shyamal 06:22, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Creationism

edit

Hi Wikiskimmer. First time I saw one of your contributions on Talk:Creationism - welcome! Just a bit of advice (I found out the hard way): don't CAPITALISE words for emphasis, rather italicise them. Otherwise your contributions stand out and it looks like you're SHOUTING. -- WolfieInu 08:47, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks. Again, please let me know if you think i'm being too nitpicky. Seems like it's an important article.Wikiskimmer 19:18, 8 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

From your fellow protist lover

edit

Hello! Just so you know, I'm leading a quiet revolution against the oppresive five-kingdom dogma on wikipedia. I've won a major victory in getting chromalveolata recognised as a kingdom, and then getting it its own unique taxobox color. However, the vast majority of protist articles (especially on family level and lower) still have kingdom:protista in their taxoboxes. I've been changing as many as I can on my own, but I am only one person, and I have limited computer access. If you'd like to help, just change taxoboxes from the protist kingdom to the proper supergroup. You don't have to go looking for them, just if you happen to see one in your revamp on slime molds, I would be very grateful if you could do this. Thank you. Science lovers wanted!

Hi! I'm serving as the wikipedian-in-residence at the Smithsonian Institution Archives until June! One of my goals as resident, is to work with Wikipedians and staff to improve content on Wikipedia about people who have collections held in the Archives - most of these are scientists who held roles within the Smithsonian and/or federal government. I thought you might like to participate since you are interested in the sciences! Sign up to participate here and dive into articles needing expansion and creation on our to-do list. Feel free to make a request for images or materials at the request page, and of course, if you share your successes at the outcomes page you will receive the SIA barnstar! Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to your participation! Sarah (talk) 19:01, 16 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
