Slow, slow, calm, calm, slow...
editHi! Just a friendly piece of advice. I note from some of your edit summaries you can be quite provocative - much use of CAPS, and emotions - sighs, snooty, etc. Much as though you as an individual may have a view, you will learn over a period that as an open-source/edit project, other people can have quite different views but still add usefully to the factual content. By adding such emotional and provocative comments in your edit summaries may create a situation where others are less acceptable of what generally seem thoughful and mainly useful additions to the various articles. Best Regards, - Trident13 11:31, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
- Apologies if that's the way I come across. I suffer with bipolar disorder and I sometimes get agitated when typing things etc, particularly dependent on my mood at the time - I know this isn't an excuse, but that's the reason. Sorry if I sounded snappy or whatever. Keep up the great work! Will2710 02:32, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hey Wil, no problem! I have a friend with bipolar, so know the opportunities that brings. No need for appologies, it always good to see new editors with good standards and I liked your work and the style. If you need some help, please just ask. With Best Regards, - Ian 15:48, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
I understand you're bi-polar but...
editI understand that you're bi-polar, but it would be nice if you could refrain from threatening me on my talk page. If you want a source, you may have one. All you need to do is ask. Calm down. Popinjay999 02:13, 11th March 2007 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Comptine D'Un Autre Été: L'Après-midi
edit
A tag has been placed on Comptine D'Un Autre Été: L'Après-midi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
non-notable aspect of film, all GHits are music archive sites
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add
{{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines. For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. I love the song (and movie!) too, but perhaps a note in the main Amélie article would be better than an individual article. ALTON .ıl 02:07, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
An editor (me) has expressed a concern that the subject of the article does not satisfy the notability guideline. Please expand the article to asses its notability. ALTON .ıl 04:36, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Why are you so mean
editYou put that free toast is bad you are pure evil and you make me throw up! So let this be a warning, Liven up NERD! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Wikinerd123 (talk • contribs) 12:37, 25 April 2007 (UTC).
- I don't respond well to so-called 'warnings' left on my own talk page. If your unhelpful contributions continue, you will find yet another of your multiple accounts blocked. Will2710|Talk! 16:14, 25 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your support of the change, I have now altered it (and I hope somebody will not alter it back again). Despite having read the Da Vinci code, from the viewpoint of someone who hasn't they can see the link in the bottom of the page but with the new system they can't. So thanks again for your support :p Yours, Dsims209 16:19, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
WILL2710
editWill2710; I am replying to the message you have recently sent me (Chris C. Nichols). Firstly, the edits made to the plot synopsis to “Keeping up Appearances” are in no way vandalism. Wikipedia is a public website which anyone can edit, and I am entitled to do so. Nothing I have posted is in anyway vandalism or offensive; just relevant alterations to an inappropriate plot summary. I don’t want to argue over this, but I will persist improving the plot synopsis regardless; because I believe the one that is consistently reverted back to is unsuitable and doesn’t meet Wikipedia standards.
Chris C. Nichols
Subst User Warnings
editThank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you. -- pb30<c.t> 00:08, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
To Will2710…The Keeping Up Appearances Plot Synopsis
editI advise you not to revert back to information that is WRONG. If you are going make alterations to the plot summary I suggest they are CORRECT; because I have found several points that were incorrect. Obviously you are going to persist in reverting back to the weaker synopsis; which is shame. However don’t alter corrections I have made. “Like I said, I’m not attacking you, I just want to help you”.
I own ALL 44 EPISODES of the programme, so I do know what I’m talking about.
Chris C. Nichols
Corrected...reverted to error...corrected...reverted to error....
editI don’t wish to waste anymore time having an editing war with you (“WILL2710”) and “UpDown” over the Keeping Up Appearances plot summary. However I feel it’s my duty to correct any informational errors made. Now let me point these out to you…
1. The image caption-Hyacinth and Richard are not hiding in the grounds of an expensive restaurant; this is a caption from series 1 episode 3, where Hyacinth and Richard are hiding from Daisy, Onslow and Rose at a stately home.
2. Rose sells Jewellery door-to-door on two occasions.
3. And Hyacinth has never organised a Church functions; she takes part in them.
Apologies if I came over angry; it’s just is frustrating when I am making corrections that are replaced with incorrect information. I don’t wish to fall out over this and my intentions are only to make improvements.
Thanks Chris C. Nichols
Thank you - Reply
editHello, and thanks for your help also in the Keeping Up Appearances matter. I think he has now been persuaded to stop. The only problems remaining are a vandal called User:Will7482 who vandalised my TalkPage, and the Keeping Up Appearances page. The second problem is the List of episodes page; firstly this is written in the same tone that Chris C Nichols tried to insert on the other page, and secondly it really needs a table, but that will take some time to insert. --UpDown 11:03, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry for taking a while to reply. I see ChrisCNichols continues, in good faith, to make somewhat annoying edits, for example putting "Synopsis" each time before the plot summary, and adding random photos. What this page really needs is a table.--UpDown 12:39, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
Newbies
editHi. I see that you've put what is effectively a vandalism warning on User talk:Dmercurio1. The pictures he has added to articles may be problematic (for one thing they have no licensing information) and may be unsuitable, but they are of the subjects of those pages. This person is a new editor attempting to improve the encyclopedia. --Simon Speed 22:23, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

- Your user page doesn't seem snooty to me. Userboxes, other than the Babel one's, are by their nature rather cliquey. And the babel boxes do serve a purpose other than to point out that you are blessed with the gift of tongues when others aren't. "This user's favourite subject is Linguistics" left this user wondering what his favourite subject was. It's obviously quite a long time since he left formal education. - Bah. This kind of thing always ends in being hoist with one's own petard. It's not former Pembrokian by the way: you will get the begging letters for the rest of your life. William Avery 21:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's nearly thirty years since I matriculated. Charlie Parsons (See http://www.knittingcircle.org.uk/charlieparsons.html) was JCR president during my time at Pembroke, and Kevin Brennan (politician) was secretary I think.

Sock pupetry
editHi there Will. My name is Sheridan Smart, I am an english Faculty teacher at a derbyshire school and enjoy editing on wikipedia. User Chris C. Nichols, of whom you have already warned about sock pupetry is continuing with his use of multiple acount. I feel the time has come to take action as it is firmly against wiki policy of which i have read to ensure i have a valid claim. I would look forward to hearing from you to remove this vandal from the wiki community. Yours faithfully Sheridan Smart
I fully understand your position but before you judge my stance, please read what the user has actually undone. I am quite confident that you will not his uneccesary actions and be dissapointed that an article you have worked on has come to this. He has constant debates with both myself and user UpDown and his edits to the article are severely undermining to the wiki community.

Amelie
editHi Will. I noticed you just added a bit about the racism accusation to Amelie. Could you please add a source for your addition? Thanks. Doctormatt 00:26, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Commentary on the DVD seems like a valid source - you just need to cite it. Make sure you are as precise as possible about which DVD it is (date of release, etc.). Information about citing can be found at WP:CITE. There is a citation template "video" at Wikipedia:Citation_templates that you might use. Cheers, Doctormatt 01:50, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- That ciation looks good. I wonder if it might be a good idea to change the text of the article to say where Jeunet makes these statements on DVD: on the commentary track or in an included interview, or wherever it is. Cheers, Doctormatt 22:26, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

French translation
editHey mate, I was wondering whether you could translate "Do not speak English? Click here." into French for me. I have my own welcome template that I use to welcome new users, and I'd like to have this phrase on them in the five official languages of the UN, as they are the Earth's predominant languages. So if you could, drop me a line with the translation, if you can't, no biggie either. Thanks! +Hexagon1 (t) 05:14, 9 October 2008 (UTC)

Help for creating/merging articles
editHello. I've read you're a French-English ambassador, and I've a request to do about an article I think would be renamed and a new one I want to create in the same project. The existing article is CFL Line 80, but the Luxembourgish line is no more the one which is actually described, now it's part of the CFL Line 70 as I wrote in this article. So, should we rename the Line 80 page to show it's an old one and also to make this name free in order to create the new one? Thanks. Dark Corlath (talk) 15:33, 18 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
