The Order was disbanded during the late 1920's presumably as a result of the Great Depression. However, during the early 1980's a group of SMU undergraduate students descended from former members re-established the order. Members can be identified around the SMU campus by their gold and turquoise pins featuring borrowed Masonic symbols. The Order is not believed to have any connection to the Freemasons. Please create an article on the Fraternal Order of the Sphinx with reliable sources before adding it to the List of collegiate secret societies. We're trying to keep that page reasonably sourced.
