editYour username
editWelcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created User:Windrushnation/sandbox, and I noticed that your username, "Windrushnation", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. I'm not entirely sure what the Windrush Nation described in your draft is, but your username certainly suggests some connection. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:40, 13 June 2023 (UTC)
- Change of name was accepted - I'm now @Ukmaroon
- I'm not advocating for anyone of group. "Windrush Nation" is a brand new song and phrase that has not been used before, except by the two organisations that commissioned it. In my article, I'm trying to give context to the work.
- Also, how can I get access to the old file no that my username has changed? Ukmaroon (talk) 01:06, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
- As you may already have realised, the "file", i.e. the draft article moved when your Username changed, so it is now at User:Ukmaroon/sandbox. I'm afraid that there is no chance that it will be accepted into the main encyclopaedia, for reasons explained at WP:TOOSOON. Wikipedia follows what reliable external sources say, it does not lead as is is not a newspaper. Once the song has garnered enough attention in sources which meet these criteria (if it ever does) and hence passed the threshold of notability explained here an article will be possible. Until that point, you are wasting your time trying to force the issue. Sorry to be the bearer of this bad news. Mike Turnbull (talk) 11:08, 14 June 2023 (UTC)
