Hello, I'm Egghead06. An edit that you recently made to 1995–96 in English football seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Egghead06 (talk) 16:47, 3 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Spelling!

edit

Hi Woodstockboy22,

When 'correcting' spelling you have to take care that its appropriate in the context.

Other things you have to watch out for - things that I've noticed several new editors doing...

  • Asserting your local spelling (this is an international wiki) - see MOS:ENGVAR for the details
  • 'correcting' in file names - you can fix these but by requesting the file is renamed, and if done the file re-namer will fix on the article(s).
  • 'correcting' in wiki links, template names, category names without fixing the target.
  • 'correcting' spelling mistakes in titles of song, books, shows, etc - some are misspelt so you should check the source.

Have fun on wiki, but take care. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 21:39, 6 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lifeseeker, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Arfæst! 15:35, 7 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
