edit

Thanks for your edits on the Deniece Williams article, but you're not formatting content correctly. For instance, you linked to Billboard magazine rather than Billboard (magazine) and then you didn't format it correctly, just as you're not formatting albums or songs correctly. Would you like to learn how to do it correctly or would you rather have others clean-up after you? Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:29, 1 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

In terms of wiki links and the like i've endeavoured to cite and edit these according to stipulated guidelines. As is the case there's no indication of such improper formatting as you've suggested in either the article's history or it's current state. Those edits which you've made though paraphrased wiki links instead of correcting any of its perceived errors. With this being said can you please note exactly where i've gone about formatting the article in an improper manner altogether?Woojy88 (talk) 4:50, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

A page you started (Earth, Wind & Fire Horns) has been reviewed!

edit

{{subst:Reviewednote-NPF|1=Earth, Wind & Fire Horns|2=Doomsdayer520|3=Thanks for your new article on Earth, Wind & Fire Horns. Unfortunately it looks like information on this ensemble is quite thin outside of the main band, and I am concerned about their notability as a stand-alone entity. In comparison, that's not a problem for [[Phenix Horns[[. Consider moving info you have found on EWF Horns to a new or expanded section within Earth Wind & Fire's main article.}}

---DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 18:25, 3 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Well the article Earth, Wind & Fire Horns meets several notability guidelines within Wikipedia:Notability (music) under the heading "Criteria for musicians and ensembles". At first under point 1 of the criteria as the horn section "Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself". Additionally under point 6 which states that "Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles." This article also meets point 6 of the criterion being "Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g., a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album, etc." With this being so the article Earth, Wind & Fire Horns is thus notable in accordance to these stipulated guidelines and shouldn't be merged into the article Earth, Wind & Fire whatsoever. When Love Goes Wrong

edit

You'll have to let me know how I diminished the article When Love Goes Wrong. It was like a two sentence stub, and all I did was fix the language of one sentence and made a couple other minor improvements. You're acting like I redirected the article. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me

Well I was speaking to those guidelines for improving and expanding stub articles as in Wikipedia:Stub, Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub improvement and Wikipedia:Stub Contest which you should always follow. (Woojy88.) (talk) 11:52, 23 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

One is a WikiProject, which I am not a part of (the aim for those who are is to expand stub article, so I applaud those who are doing that), one is a contest, which I don't participate in, and one is the guideline, which I did nothing to violate. Hello, Woojy88. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

The file File:Robots- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free album cover being used in a decorative manner in Robots (2005 film)#Soundtrack. Non-free album cover art is generally allowed to be used for primary identification purposes in stand-alone articles about albums, but its use in other articles is generally only allowed when the cover art itself is the subject of sourced critical commentary as explained in WP:NFC#cite_note-3 and the context for non-free use required by WP:NFCC#8 is evident. There is no such commentary for this particular album cover anywhere in the article, and the use of soundtrack album cover art in articles about films or TV programs is generally not allowed for this reason as explained in WP:FILMSCORE.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:16, 4 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for your improvements. Would appreciate if you would revert the deleted external links as they are all different and include the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and the original recording of Tequila Mockingbird by Ramsey Lewis - or is there a reason you deleted theme? Is there a limitation to external links? In that case I think the original version is the one that is produced by Larry Dunn and the The Roots on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon should be included at the external links.

Also there is this page that is being threatened for deletion: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Tahiti_Hut I would have created an album page for "Love Island" album by Deodato or would be grateful if it interests you. I simply cannot figure out how to revert the redirect from Love Island (album) to Eumir Deodato's page. I asked for advise from the editors in the discussion and no one is replying. I made the track list but then found no way to revert the redirect.

No.TitleWriter(s)Length
1."Area Code 808"Deodato, George Parrish, Jr6:45
2."Whistle Bump"Deodato4:32
3."Tahiti Hut"Maurice White4:27
4."San Juan Sunset" 4:15
5."Love Islandd"Deodato6:40
6."Chariot of the Gods"Don Juan Mancha, Edwin Starr3:09
7."Pina Colada"[Deodato]]5:55
8."Take The “A” Train"Billy Strayhorn3:48

Well as those external links had been referenced throughout, you could go on to make further cites instead within the main article. With such being so i've already started the article Love Island (Deodato album) which you could go on about further editing together with the appropriate redirects being towards Eumir Deodato's page. Blues & Soul R&B chart

edit

Sorry, I completely disagree with you about this chart being a national chart "by extension"... on what basis do you have evidence for saying this? What is the chart based on – sales, airplay? I will open up a discussion at WP:Record charts to get consensus on using this chart but I don't see how this can possibly be considered a national chart just because no other one existed at the time. Richard3120 (talk) 20:43, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

The Blues & Soul British R&B Albums chart is a national chart of England and the United Kingdom. This was the only major chart which focused on Soul Albums and Singles in the United Kingdom from the late 1960s to the early 1990s. The charts were compiled on the basis of record sales and so on. As such these charts are very essential to conceptualizing and understanding the British Soul Music scene during that era.[1] Given the importance and the necessity of these charts they should be kept as is. Wioaw talk 16:45, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I have started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Record charts#Blues & Soul British R&B Albums chart. You are welcome to contribute there. Richard3120 (talk) 20:57, 4 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Favorable"/"unfavorable"

edit

Please don't add these to the ratings table – apart from not actually being a rating, it's a subjective opinion as to whether a review is favorable or not, and as such it has in the past been considered original research... see the discussion at Template talk:Album ratings/Archive 1#Favorable/Unfavorable for example. Either way, you should not be adding this without a consensus. Richard3120 (talk) 14:47, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

What's that supposed to mean though? Anyone can read those reviews and ascertain just as I did that its a slightly positive or very positive review or a mixed and or poor review. What's your point exactly?Wioaw (talk) 16:47, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

The point is that other editors came to the conclusion that those reviews without an actual rating shouldn't be included in the ratings table, and spent months taking them out, and now you're unilaterally deciding to put them back in again. Richard3120 (talk) 15:39, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well you can follow Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Album article style advice#Critical reception to understand and ascertain those guidelines and procedures with regard to album reviews and so forth. As such you'd also recognise, notice and acknowledge that I've wholeheartedly adhered to and followed those guidelines and procedures throughout while editing upon Wikipedia. Wioaw (talk) 17:05, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well, it looks like I'm going to have to open up another discussion on this... Richard3120 (talk) 16:16, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Please User:Richard3120 it would be very wise to avoid descending into WP:Edit Warring over such a trivial and simplistic issue.Wioaw (talk) 17:30, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I'm not edit warring, I haven't changed any of your edits. However, changes like this are done on consensus, so we should get a consensus on whether these should be included in the ratings table or not... especially as previous consensus was to remove them. Richard3120 (talk) 17:14, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Well as a user on Wikipedia you should be aware of the fact that according to Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Album article style advice#Critical reception it's up to the various users of Wikipedia to gain consensus and discern how a review should be rated as either favorable or otherwise. As well can you disclose where on Wikipedia did a discussion occur about entirely removing favorable/unfavourable reviews from the ratings table on Wikipedia articles. If I'm not mistaken that'll be strange and very contrary to those guidelines and procedures that's stipulated for editing in this regard by Wikipedia. With such being said can you please acertain this article(s) so as to prove and support your perplexing comments and argument.Wioaw (talk) 18:47, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Err... I already linked to such a discussion above in my first post? Anyway, I opened a discussion at Template talk:Album ratings#Adding "favorable"/"unfavorable" to the albums rating table and you are welcome to comment there. Richard3120 (talk) 17:58, 7 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

The file File:Take Your Time (Do It Right) by SOS Band.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Very similar to the (other) European artwork (File:Take_Your_Time_(Do_It_Right)_-_SOS_Band.jpg). Furthermore, this is the Italian release, not the US one, which used generic company sleeve.

Image without license

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Earth, Wind & Fire - Dance Tracks.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 13:00, 13 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Dance Tracks

edit

The article Dance Tracks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

References do not meet Wikipedia's notability guideline for music. Article has not been edited since it was tagged for notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
