As of 2009 February 14 Dr Shonrock is one of two finalists for the position of president of Southeastern Louisiana University. Rammer (talk) 05:55, 15 February 2009 (UTC)
- If he were to become president of the university, he would be considered notable enough for inclusion by WP:Notability (academic), but at present he doesn't appear to meet the notability criteria for academics according to what's in the article so far. - Understood, but keep an eye on him and hesitate to judgment. If he isn't moving up where he is, he self-evidently lacks resistance to seeing Lubbock, Texas, in his rearview mirror. You can probably take away the orphan statement, as other articles now link. Rammer (talk) 18:14, 16 February 2009 (UTC)
- I have to agree with MuffledThud (talk · contribs). Perhaps in the future Shonrock will be notable, but he currently is not (at least, if he is, the article does not establish it). An article should be created once a person in notable, not in anticipation of such. →Wordbuilder (talk) 01:24, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Further, Shonrock withdrew his name from consideration for the position at Southeastern Louisiana University. →Wordbuilder (talk) 15:54, 17 February 2009 (UTC)
- Recommend removal, at least for the time being. Southeastern has an outstanding situation. Rammer (talk) 19:22, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Would you like me to move this article to a subpage of your user page? It sounds as if he might become notable, and by moving it to a subpage, the article you've worked on so far can be "parked" until the situation changes. MuffledThud (talk) 19:28, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- If Richard David Ramsey (talk · contribs) doesn't want it, I'll take it. →Wordbuilder (talk) 20:07, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
- Naw, let Wordbuilder have it. I AM a Texas Tech alumnus but have plenty to do. I'll just look in on things once in a while. Strange that a tug-of-war breaks out over an article on the way to deletion. Wordbuilder, just make sure you take good care of my baby, as I lovingly give him up for adoption. [outdent] No problem, Rammer. After the move takes place, I'll send a link your way. Feel free to edit the article at any time and we can get it back out when notability is established. →Wordbuilder (talk) 02:08, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for moving this to talk: I was going to, but accidentally missed the prod deadline. MuffledThud (talk) 20:51, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
- No problem. I appreciate the suggestion and your comments. →Wordbuilder (talk) 21:49, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
