There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. 331dot (talk) 09:38, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@331dot, This is my first time trying Wikipedia and i don't understand why i got blocked, Can you please help me understand to avoid this in the future ? It is not for advertisement nor promotion, it is a youth global even like One Young World and EcoSoc

Help me!

edit

Please help me with my account, The reason mentioned was due to Promotional reasons but this is not true, I was providing educational information on an event just like many other pages on Wikipedia on similar events like Misk Foundation, One Young World and others. My purpose from this article is purely to enrich and empower young people

Request reason:

It is not a promotional account

Decline reason:

Technical decline only, replaced by new request below. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 11:44, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

(edit conflict) Please read the block notice. Your username cannot be that of your event per the username policy; your username must indicate that a single individual exclusively operates this account(your real name is not required, just something individualistic).
"Providing educational information" or "enrich and empower young people" is considered promotional on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not just for providing information. As an encyclopedia, Wikipedia summarizes what independent, third party reliable sources with significant coverage state about article subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability(for events that is written at WP:NEVENT). Wikipedia has no interest in what a subject(or its representative) wants to say about itself. In addition, you have a conflict of interest in editing about your own event; you may also need to comply with the paid editing policy(even if you are not paid cash money).
Other similar events meriting articles does not automatically mean your event merits one too; each article is judged on its own merits based on coverage in independent reliable sources(as stated). Please read WP:OSE. Articles on other similar events were likely not written by event representatives, but by independent editors who noticed coverage of the event in reliable sources; ideally, this is what Wikipedia is interested in.
To be unblocked, please follow the instructions in the block notice, proposing a new username and telling what you will edit about if unblocked because it is unlikely you will be unblocked to further edit about your event. 331dot (talk) 10:20, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
"Help me" and an unblock request simultaneously is not necessary; someone else will review your request. 331dot (talk) 10:21, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for explaining, I was not aware of that since this is my first time using Wikipedia

Requested username:

Request reason:

The detailed clarification made me understand, I though that the user name should be with the name of the article that i am writing, Further citation in addition to references are going to be added on the article in addition to adding more of my pictures to make sure that there is no violation in the copy rights. Such event is very rich and is going largely over the last few years, have no information on Wikipedia on it is such a loss so that is why i wanted to contribute with adding what i can when i participated in it. I would like even to protect the information after being done to avoid any violation to the content itself later on, since all the information I provide are verified. Please let me know how can i do that smoothly and avoid any further complications

Decline reason:

The proposed new username is acceptable. However, the other elements of the block still need to be addressed. You will not be unblocked until: If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets. Yunshui  11:47, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
Articles are not protected merely to prevent others from editing them; they are only protected as needed due to vandalism or disruptive editing. You can't prevent others from editing any article about your event. As I've said, you won't be unblocked to edit about your event. If you just want to tell the world about this event, you should use social media or a website owned and operated by the organizers of this event. 331dot (talk) 10:43, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@331got Thank you for the renaming, now what can be done to remove the block, since having a blocked account is useless since if cannot publish any article?"

Now that you know that you cannot write about your event, how will you contribute to Wikipedia if unblocked? MER-C 11:11, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@MER-C, Mainly i am into training and youth empowerment so i can contribute in multiple stuff when it comes to this part. however , out of curiosity, and even though i do have a concern on "your event" what is the difference between having an article on this event and others which exists on wikipedia like the below references, can you please let me know since its really confusing ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Young_World https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_Changemakers https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MiSK_Foundation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_Economic_and_Social_Council

I answered this above, in the paragraph starting with "Other similar events meriting articles does not automatically mean your event merits one too". 331dot (talk) 11:24, 13 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

@ Yunshui, Yes, for sure. This was my time using Wikipedia, I was not aware that these policies apply to the sandbox, i was just trying and testing on it. Again, this is not my organization, i just chose an event to write on. and I would be interested in translating other articles with between the the 3 languages Spanish, English , Arabic, in addition to editing as well Pakinam Ashraf (talk) 08:36, 16 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
