Adoption

edit

Hey Wornwinter11! I'm The Arbiter, and I would like to welcome you to Wikipedia. I noticed you wanted to be adopted, and also that you are interested in anti-vandalism work. I can adopt you and show you the ropes around Wikipedia. Would you like me to adopt you? The ArbiterTalk 22:57, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

I'd appreciate that very much :) --Wornwinter11 (talk) 22:58, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Excellent! I’ll add you to my list of adoptees then, and feel free to ask me for any help you might need! Cheers, The ArbiterTalk 23:00, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks a lot :) I already have a question lol. Is the best way to go about reverting vandalism just watching the most recent changes? --Wornwinter11 (talk) 23:03, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh no, not at all. :) There are many ways to fight vandalism. I suggest you read WP:VANDALISM and WP:CVU. You can learn a lot about undoing vandalism and warning the vandals on their talk pages. My suggestion is to use the program Twinkle to undo vandalism. Once you have enough anti-vandalism experience, you can apply for the rollback permission, which allows you to revert vandalism, and ONLY vandalism, with one click of a button. This capability allows you to download the program Huggle, which is what I use to fight vandals. It is extremely fast and effective, but you have to be careful to revert only vandalism, otherwise some users may have something to say to you. :) Of course, that’s farther down the road for you, so why don’t you start by reading those two pages and using Twinkle? The ArbiterTalk 23:15, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
Already using Twinkle, and I'll have a read at those pages. Thanks a lot :) --Wornwinter11 (talk) 23:17, 20 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Rofl, ;p Aeonorion (talk) 02:07, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
By the way, WP:NOTMYSPACE. Just something to think about. It's generally frowned upon to use talk pages for non-constructive purposes. :) --Wornwinter11 (talk) 13:27, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Very good Wornwinter. The ArbiterTalk 19:37, 21 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
