- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}

Request reason:
To the administrator. The fact that "Orangemike" has called my post "spam" and called me a "spammer" is insulting and does not meet -- in any way -- the cordial, positive standard of "conversation" that Wikipedia has fostered over the years. I respect -- and use --- Wikipedia almost every day and because of that was honest about my connection with Writers House. We have a problem here in that we represent John Twelve Hawks -- a truly unique individual who does not make public appearances and rarely gives interviews. Because of this unusual situation, the information given on Wikipedia about Hawks is crucially important to his readers. It gives them a way to find out about this reclusive writer. Please read the article. It was clearly not put up for "publicity and/or promotional purposes." We are talking about a writer who been translated into 25 languages and gets his books reviewed by the New York Times. So, yes, I wrote the article, and I worked very hard to make it factual and objective -- using established sources. It is clear that orangemike did not actually read the article. If he found anything that was not factual, he could have removed it. If he had sent me a message, I would have immediately responded to any of his objections and inquiries. Our goal here is to put up an article with legitimate sources that is worthy of the best standards of Wikipedia.
I have no desire to get into a "flame war" with anyone on Wikipedia, but it does annoy me...when I'm trying to show respect for this institution...to be called a "spammer" by someone who literally boasts about deleting people on his Wikipedia page. I would like the following: to be "unblocked" and have the article put back up (as I said, feel free to change any part of it...that is the essence of Wikipedia). If you wish, I will agree to no longer post as an institution, but as an individual. Best Wishes, Joseph.
Decline reason:
Firstly, you need to change your username, so for your next unblock request you should use the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
.
Secondly, given your significant conflict of interest, I am unconvinced that you should be editing articles related to your client.
Lastly, I suggest you read WP:NOTTHEM. I strongly suggest you focus your next unblock request on why you should be unblocked, instead of criticizing the blocking admin. PhilKnight (talk) 15:58, 14 November 2014 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
