Hi, I saw that you did some of the entries over on moss/L, thank you for that! I just wanted to tell you that you can always also just delete the entry and its typo (if there was no issue ofc), instead of adding a tag. Hope to see you continuing to fix these typos! Strickesel (talk) 20:11, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Ok! Thank you for your advice. xdude (talk) 20:13, 29 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi again, I just looked at your edits again and noticed one mistake you made: when something in square brackets gets listed as a typo, that is usually due to the quote they appear in being formatted wrong (quotations should only be in these " quotation marks). The square brackets in the quote indicate that this letter/part is different from the actual quote and was changed so that it fits (grammatically) into the new context. You shouldn't remove those! If the square brackets are in another context, that's something else, and, if in doubt, you can always just add a note to the entry like you've already done in other cases. Also, if you find something listed as a typo that isn't actually one, that's important to know! Don't delete those, instead add a note saying why they are not a typo (or why this case is weird or something). Hope you don't mind me messaging you again, just thought that I would want somebody to tell me if I'd made a mistake or overlooked something :) Strickesel (talk) 16:28, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Oh, really? I didn't know that was a bad thing, I just thought it was dumb typing or something, to be honest. xdude (talk) 16:32, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, do be sure to look over at your talkpage. I sent you a Barnstar and a question, I believe. xdude (talk) 16:33, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

On cleaning out the talkpage. That's allowed, but you may want to check Help:Archiving a talk page. It's possible have a talkpage automatically archived, making it easy to find old discussions/messages. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:31, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Alright, I'll read that. xdude (talk) 11:37, 30 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

edit

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Badfinger into Pete Ham. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 17:11, 24 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
