Tottori Jōhoku High School baseball team
editHi! I noticed you're quite active in developing Wiki article related to Japanese baseball and I wondered if you could give me a hand. An article I wrote on Tottori Jōhoku High School just got brought back in the draft section due to lack of notability. Given Jōhoku High is well known for its baseball team I wonder if you could help me expand the baseball section of the article or at least give me a proofread? I don't know much on baseball (I mainly work on the sumo part as a member of WikiProject Sumo) - OtharLuin (talk) 10:37, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- I rewrote the baseball section a bit and fixed a translation or two. I am not editing wikipedia too much these days (I want to see some minor league games this year and was a bit annoyed about the lack of info on where Japanese minor league teams play so recently I started to edit those pages a bit) and the whole article itself reads to me more like an advertisement for the school rather than a Wikipedia article, to be honest. The Japanese page for the school as well just lists a few key dates. I don't really have the time to look up more references for the school but I hope what I did helps. Let me know if you have any questions about my edits or about anything else. XinJeisan (talk) 11:41, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi! Thanks for the changes, the baseball part does indeed look more complete or at least more understandable.
- Going back to your comment about the article being more like an advertisement than an article, I think it's pretty balanced. This high school is talked about through the success of its student teams, so it is normal to put it in the spotlight (this is also what makes Jōhoku High meet the criteria of notability). On the other hand, articles from second sources on the structure of the school are rare, hence the relative lack of perspective on the courses and the history of the school. - OtharLuin (talk) 12:31, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
