Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. --Dbratland (talk) 03:22, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello Dbratland: You may not appreciate my comments as I do not appreciate your comments/criticism regarding advertising and soapbox. Everything stated on the Excelsior-Henderson wiki site is factual and true. Please look at Harley-Davidson wiki and you will see much more. Please hold each motorcycle company wiki page to equal standards.

The EH company has been routinely demonized by a few in the media over the years and it should not be allowed to continue here. The company is no longer public and is privately held. Please treat all wiki motorcycle company or products pages equally. In the Excelsior Supply wiki page and the Henderson Motorcycle wiki pages--among others--they also show pictures of bikes, founders, management teams, etc...so I find your comments somewhat hollow, and potentially biased.

If you have questions, please call me directly and we can resolve this issue before it escalates. Please use more caution and objectivity before sending criticism. We don't need to be sending constant "talk" notes back and forth, or over-writing each other on the Wiki page. Please contact me directly on the phone as we will resolve the issues. Thank you for your understanding.

Always Makes Good.

Very Truly Yours.

I think you should attempt to understand Wikipedia. Start by taking a look at the Five Pillars. Particularly, Verifiability, where it says right at the top, "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth." Lets review that again: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth."

Wikipedia cares nothing for "truth." Wikipedia seeks to create articles that reflect what is said in reliable sources. This means whatever "the media" has said about a subject, including Excelsior-Henderson, then Wikipedia is supposed to reflect whatever they say.

Besides filling the article with your opinions without citing independent third party sources (not some Wiki!), you are violating several important principles of Wikipedia, including the policy regarding conflict of interest and tendentious editing. You are trying to use Wikipedia to set the record straight, as you see it.

Please stop. If you continue you will very likely be blocked from editing. If you make the effort to understand Wikipedia, you will see that it is not necessary to try to manipulate the content of articles this way. Remember, Wikipedia is not the whole internet and Wikipedia does not delete content from other sites, nor does Wikipedia prevent readers from finding other sites with Google. You can publish your opinions without having to insert them into Wikipedia articles. --Dbratland (talk) 04:09, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Our advisors do have an appreciation of wiki, and we do not appreciate your implications of blocking. It would seem like an abuse of power at this point. We have done nothing wrong and nothing inappropriate. We are simply updating a page that has been cryptic and dormant for several years. Please rise above this pettiness. Please treat the company fairly and everything will be okay. We are not publishing opinions, only facts. It is interesting that you believe wiki is not intended to be truthful or factual. Others might disagree with your viewpoint.

The legal structure of EH is still in existence and is privately held and does have operations. It was reorganized at one time, like many companies, and is no longer in reorganization. We're not trying to do anything wrong and please be more careful in insinuating that we are. Why are you so opposed when you can look at Harley Davidson and others we cited and they have much more. By the way, we are an expert on the subject matter contained within.

Please call me and we can resolve this professionally.

Thank you.

PS: Everything can be "verified" to be accurate. Let me repeat, as you did. Everything can be "verified" to be accurate. And is the truth. Even better when it is accurate and the truth. Not good to be accurate in quoting un-truths or perpetuating myths. Xlegalx (talk) 04:37, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Now we're getting somewhere. All you have to do is name the independent, third-party sources which verify your assertions and everything is hunky dory. Wikipedia:Citing sources is an helpful article on how to cite sources. By the way, I have no power whatsoever. I'm just trying to give you some information. --Dbratland (talk) 04:41, 9 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
