Notability of Rachel's Bio

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Rachel's Bio, by Seattlenow (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Rachel's Bio seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Rachel's Bio, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:43, 16 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Misuse of Wikipedia

edit

Rachel, you have created a couple of articles which seem to reflect a complete misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is for. You could have put a bio of yourself, and a plea for stopping animal abuse, on your own user page; but they have no place as articles in the Wikipedia itself. Please, read the introductory material, and contribute to the project as a work of reference. Best of luck! --Orange Mike 21:14, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Animal Abuse

edit

Hello. Thanks for your comment on my talk page. Pretty much, I'll just reiterate what Orangemike has already said in that your article was not appropriate for Wikipedia. There are some things that Wikipedia is not. As it applies to your PLZ STOP ANIMAL ABUSE PAGE, it is not a soapbox. I see that someone has redirected your page to the ASPCA article, which is fine with me. You might consider making contributions there, or perhaps to PETA, Cruelty to Animals, Animal welfare or Animal rights in order to further your personal beliefs, but please read these articles: Neutral Point of View, No Original Research, Manual of Style, The Five Pillars of Wikipedia before you. These I think will assist you in making meaningful contributions to Wikipedia that will remain. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Also, when you post to discussion pages like this one, it's best form to sign your comments. You do this by typing four tildes like so: ~~~~. Cheers! Douglasmtaylor 00:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh. P.S. I own a dog and, like you, detest animal abuse. Douglasmtaylor 00:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
My cat and I agree with Douglas and his dog. --Orange Mike 14:57, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
And yet, although Mike and I agree, I doubt highly that my dog would agree with his cat (about anything). Rachel, to answer your question on my talk page: yes, we are cool. I didn't think you were particularly rude, nor am I easily offended. Douglasmtaylor 23:11, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Uploading Images

On the left side of your browser window, you should see several boxes. One of them is labeled "interaction" and one of the choices is "file upload wizard". You can click that link and it will guide you through uploading your image. Please be sure to read the instructions carefully and follow them, otherwise your image will be deleted. Good luck to you. Here is a link to the upload wizard. Douglasmtaylor T/C 00:56, 1 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Little context in G.N.O

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on G.N.O, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because G.N.O is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting G.N.O, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself.
