Getting started

edit

I substituted the {{W-graphical}} template up there to add the nice welcome message you see at the top of this page, which is your user talk page. (That sentence has a lot of jargon which you will learn about later. For now, just marvel at the pretty welcome message I added to your user talk page by typing a small amount of wikitext.) On Wikipedia, it's easy to link all the jargon terms we type to pages that define them. You will like it here a lot. You can start editing your User page, for example, to keep track of links to articles you find useful. I can also adopt you. I'm reading about how to do that. --Teratornis (talk) 07:08, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tutorial

edit

For your first assignment, please go to the tutorial and give it a try. It should all be self-explanatory. --Teratornis (talk) 07:09, 30 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

When you get to the second tab in the tutorial (Wikipedia:Tutorial (Editing)), please use your own sandbox page by clicking on this link: User:YRUsoamazing/Sandbox. That way you can save your test edits so other users will not overwrite them. The tutorial has its own sandbox pages, but lots of other users edit them too. (Sandbox (software development) explains the meaning of the term "sandbox" here, if you are not familiar with it.) When you complete the tutorial, I will give you an {{Award of First Success}}. --Teratornis (talk) 21:24, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

I adopted you, by placing the {{Adoptee}} template on your user page. --Teratornis (talk) 20:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Be bold

edit

You should try a test edit. Be bold. --Teratornis (talk) 03:50, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sisyphus

edit

See Sisyphus. When someone says they feel like Sisyphus, they might mean they feel like they are doing something repetitive and laborious to no end. --Teratornis (talk) 04:23, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
