Thank you nobody! I've tried to address all the concerns that were raised about this page. The major concern was not enough sources, but now there are ten citations.
I don't know what else I need to do. Please let me know!
Thanks! Yesiwant2no (talk) 00:28, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Yesiwant2no, there's a few things that are still issues:
  • The concern about issues was not just about the number of issues but also their reliability. Sources from his employers are likely WP:PRIMARY and not WP:SECONDARY. It needs Independent sources to establish notability.
  • The lead is partially copied from here, which is a copyrighted source (see this comparison), please rewrite that part.
  • It still needs way more sources. All the sections, except the Recognition and Awards one, have only one sources. The Personal life section has none at all. All the statements that are likely to be questioned need to be sources (WP:BLPRS).
  • The images placement could be improved. See Image dos and don'ts

Hi!

I added a number of sources to the submission. I re-added a portrait photo and have asked for proof of permission to use.

I appreciate your help!

Thanks! Paul

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

Hello, Yesiwant2no. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 05:42, 14 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I do not have a conflict of interest. I worked with the subject several years ago and thought he was deserving of a wikipage. There are not many African American scholars of his caliber and believe his work needs to be known outside the field of social work. I plan to create more pages of people who are "notable" once I figure out how to get this published. Yesiwant2no (talk) 00:24, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I am also NOT being paid for this. I want to make that clear! Yesiwant2no (talk) 00:29, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Images of James Herbert Williams

edit

You uploaded quite a number of images of James Herbert Williams from various decades to Wikimedia Commons and marked all of them as being your own work. Given that you only worked with the subject several years ago and the images are often quite low resolution, that is somewhat improbable. Could you say where you did get the images from?
