Hello, I'm MrOllie. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 17:57, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Ytrezq, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who misuse multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 17:58, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Correct, we’re a group of over 1000 users which include Roman Semenov (1 of the original developpers) who think that the article says is in great part, wrong. Having reliable links is important in order to avoid users being scammed when they search for sources. Outside what was sized by the sanctions, we’re not a fork : we’re using the same funds and the shareholders and even the same ɪᴘꜰꜱ website as before the sanctions. It’s true the old team disbanded, but you can’t censor an [[1]] that continued allocating funds for the project to developers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ytrezq (talkcontribs)
Wikipedia requires sourcing, you will not be able to change the article until reliable sources (such as mainstream news outlets, not crypto blogs) take notice of these changes. Also see WP:COI, if you are involved with this 'group' you should not be editing the article yourself. - MrOllie (talk) 20:55, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
I understand, hence WP:Village_pump_(policy)#Add_on‑chain_activity_to_WP:RS. Though the current situation is like being declared dead on Wikipedia : you edit the article yourself in order to explain why it’s wrong. Think as Tornado Cash editing it’s own Wikipedia article. Ideally, to avoid promotion, the article should be deleted.
Otherwise, we’re not doing promotion by stating less than 50% of the transferred funds are linked to money laundering or that companies like the Graph even went as far as censoring statistical data about usage. Ytrezq (talk) 21:23, 12 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please do not delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Wikipedia:Village pump (policy). Such edits are disruptive, and may appear to other editors to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Thank you. SN54129 15:41, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

I invited techical peoples to talk on this issue (the opinion that a registration off chain changes everything related to equivalent document off‑chain or not related to cryto). Therefore the closure is prematured. Please wait. Ytrezq (talk) 15:47, 14 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Don't do this.

Your long, rambling, and largely irrelevant unblock request convinces me the block is correct. PhilKnight (talk) 03:34, 15 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
