Disambiguation link notification
editHi. When you recently edited Battle of Route Coloniale 4, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thai (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Mayaguez incident
editWhy do you keep changing the outcome in the infobox to something that is inaccurate? US military action forced the Khmer Rouge to release the crew of the Mayaguez and the ship itself was retaken by the US Marines. As it turned out there was no need to attack Koh Tang and the US suffered casualties but that doesn't alter the final outcome. Mztourist (talk) 05:08, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- US forces secured the release of the crew, US Marines secured the ship. US and Khmer Rouges casulaties are addressed later in the Infobox. Your summary is therefore inaccurate, please stop changing it or I will refer this to an Administrator and request that you are blocked. Mztourist (talk) 17:50, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- You said on my Talk page "However, it's impossible to leave the summary like before, since it only describe the outcome, while the rescue operation that took the majority of the article was left ignored. Leaving it like this would likely to cause confusion to first-time readers, like me. So I suggest another summary edit: "First rescue attemp unable to extract the hostages, taking casualties". Would that be fine?" No, the line in the Infobox is Result i.e. the outcome, so the summary that I have there is perfectly correct. Casualties for both side are listed in the Infobox, but if people are interested in knowing the full story of what happened they need to read the entire article. Your edits
editI would like to remind you of some of the rules of Wikipedia, firstly it is NPOV, I note that many of your edits do not comply with this and push a pro-communist Vietnamese POV, such edits will be deleted. You are also marking almost all your edits as m which should only be used when making trivial edits such as correcting spelling mistakes, if you are making substantive edits these need to be explained so that other users can immediately identify what change has been made and why. Finally as English clearly isn't your native language can I suggest you run spelling and grammar check on your edits to save other users from having to correct your errors. Mztourist (talk) 18:07, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
- Vietnamese sources are not NPOV, unfortunately they still use the wartime communist propaganda referring to the ARVN as puppets and/or cowards and massively inflating US and ARVN casualty figures, therefore they cannot be relied on as sources without very close editing and careful writing.Mztourist (talk) 09:43, 10 May 2012 (UTC)

Edit warring
editPlease read WP:3rr as you have been edit warring on North Vietnam. The page has been protected for 3 days rather than blocking the two users involved. Please avoid such behavior in the future and continue discussion on talk:North Vietnam to resolve disputes. Vsmith (talk) 15:26, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
3rr block
edit{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

- When your block expires, I suggest that you start a thread on the talk page and (calmly) address each of the points being contended, with sources to support your views. The page is heavily watched; uninvolved editors can help mediate. If that fails, have you tried to pursue dispute resolution? Homunculus (duihua) 14:05, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
