Re:Tet images

It's probably deleted because there's already a version at commons. "Tet festivals" are probably only found outside of Vietnam to introduce Vietnamese culture to the local population, because Vietnamese usually celebrate Tet with their families at home. Here are some things you can watch out for:

1. The former flag of South Vietnam - Vietnamese refugees want to be clear that they are not affiliated with the current government of Vietnam.
2. cây nêu - a long bamboo pole with a red banner attached at one end: see vi:Tập tin:Cây nêu ở nông thôn.jpg and vi:Tập tin:Cây nêu.jpg
3. Food: watch out for bánh chưng, bánh tét, and bánh giầy - these food are traditionally eaten during Tet.
4. Enjoy yourself! You can also ask User:Blnguyen as he's more familiar with Tet festivals in Australia (he manned a booth in Adelaide in previous years). DHN (talk) 16:07, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

The image was mistakenly deleted because it wasn't used in any article. However, since it's a public domain image, I have restored it at vi.wiki. BTW, at the local Tet festival here last week, I saw a reconstructed Vietnamese village, so you might see one there too. DHN (talk) 22:44, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

Well the flag will definitely be there, but it's already on wiki. A few politicians will be there, trying to get the ethnic vote, and most likely Wikipedia doesn't have pictures of them. Um, mine was a smaller one at the Buddhist temple, not a larger and "official" community one, but there is usually a stage where they have cultural performances that you can take photos of. Apart from that there will be food stalls of some type if you want to take a photo of some particular food to add to an article. Dragon dance pictures are probably already all over the place. My computer doesn't allow YouTube atm, so I Can't see what is in this youtube of Inala Tet. You might find a few paintings or statues of some folk deities or the like as well. Actually, you should not worry about that. We aren't pros and the people aren't posing for us so that happens. You should see how blurry my portrait of Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina is and they have been up there for a year. And a lot more, the picture set right above me on my userpage (from the Tour Down Under) are also rather ridiculous sometimes. a lot of hte pics on Wikipedia are pretty corny except for inaminate objects, so it'll be alright. Some suggestions on photos to take in Vietnam

1. In webcafes, look for regulations or warnings telling you not to access "depraved" or "reactionary" websites (something better than these pics would be great: File:Warning in Internet Cafe in Thu Duc, Vietnam-1.jpg, File:Warning in Internet Cafe in Thu Duc, Vietnam-2.jpg)
2. Tropical fruits.
3. Authentic Vietnamese food.
4. Propaganda posters (such as this, this, this, or this). Popular topics: AIDS/drug prevention, paying taxes, the glorious socialist revolution, traffic safety).
5. Advertising billboards - especially those juxtaposed with the propaganda posters.

The above logo has been replaced by the one from their corporate website. In the future if you see some error such as this all you have to do is upload the correct image - doesn't take an admin to do this. You can also request the deletion of the image as a {{db-hoax}} so that it's not transcluded into articles incorrectly. Skier Dude (talk) 20:09, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

As you may know i have tried for the past 4 days to add an ESRB review on the Assassins's Creed 2 page. I would just like you to know that i have done my homework on the game and that its correct. I have also made sure that its at a neutral viewpoint and i have made no bias remarks in it. I would love to talk to you and see what you have to say.
