JzG

This user will not quit. He has vandalized my talkpage numerous times over the past three days

• Today he deleted comments of other users with no explanation[1], protecting my talkpage[2] without any justification, deleting my response to his harassment on my talkpage with the bizarre edit summary "Since you are saying goodbye, let's assume you mean it, eh?", and then leaving this threatening message to intimidate me into leaving[3].

Before that he vandalized my talkpage[4]. Then when I reverted another user assumed he was right and reverted to JzG's version, but realized he was wrong and apologized. I was cordially and said it was alright. JzG has left numerous uncivil comments on my talkpage that can be viewed if one goes through the history of the page. He has also repeatedly been warned. Outer Ring Road, Waterford

Okay, I am really annoyed at you moving this page. Did it cross your mind that the article was given that title for a reason?

• The R710 is NOT the whole of the Waterford Ring Road, but merely 6.8km of the 7.8km of it.
• The Outer Ring Road, Waterford refers to two roads, what is the point of putting it in a article called the R710?
• I had put the proper links from 'R710' and 'R710 Road' to this page.

Did you even read the article?

I am going to revert back to what was there before. Thanks for wasting my time. Please note in the future that a single message to an editor who has produced an article, or a topic on the discussion page, can get things done without causing unnecessary work for people or annoying people!

I referred to the fact that the R710 is often referred to as the outer ring road, not that it was the outer ring road. The outer ring road -- including the phase one -- is indicated as such the Waterford City Street Map, 2nd edition. What is the problem?

Could you please tell me why you think that your edits and interpretations of wikipedia should be final? Are you aware that there are other editors?

Shoehorning the outer ring road into an R710 article is simply inaccurate. If you want to talk about the R710, why can't it be done in a separate article? I wanted to create an article on the outer ring road, not the R710. Does this mean that you are going to delete an 'Outer Ring Road, Waterford' article now if I create one? Okay, that's fine, if the phase one section has been re-designated the R710. My OS Waterford City map indicates that it is not a regional route, which is why I say re-designated. As a matter of interest, where did you get this information from?

(Otherwise it would have been incorrect to put both road sections in the R710 article. The outer ring road ought to have an article, because it's important to Waterford people. If it refers directly to the R710 then there is no problem calling the article the R710. Otherwise it should be named the 'outer ring road', which is what appears on maps, no matter how many road sections it is composed of.)

All's well that ends well then I suppose. (Providing your reference checks out. ;) )

No problem. I've been through the wars recently on wikipedia, and seeing my newest addition renamed, when I thought there was a real objection to it being renamed, put me back in that frame of mind. All I want to do is get things right, the same as yourself. Still, I might suggest that you drop me a message the next time; we'd have had this sorted out quicker and with less aggro I reckon. Just an FYI on your last comment. I was using the OSI Waterford City Street Map, 2nd Ed. It labels the new section of the road in blue & white shading, indicating a road under construction. It shades the phase one section in white, indicating an 'other road'. Both sections are called the outer ring road on the map.

btw., I think the entire road may be 6.8km in total, since we've established that phase one is part of it. I estimated the 1km phase one from the map. (Which is why I said 'about'.) Must look into it. Merlante 13:52, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Irish placenames

Did you add the irish placename to the Hillsborough, County Down article? If so, why is it the same as Crumlin, County Antrim?Traditional unionist 23:34, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

Cork poll

I think I can be bold and close the poll, when it's not going to result in anything more than a repetion of the arguments we've seen before. I voted against moving, twice, but clearly that was a bad idea. The article is going to be moved, because there's not an admin yet that seems to think that moving it was wrong. What's the point in having a pretend vote when it won't matter anyway ? Far better to have a look at all the crap that links to Cork-the-city, and see if that's where it should link to. I have major doubts that that's the case with what I saw looking at the links to Cork City (now another dab page, used to be redirect). If you don't agree with me closing the poll, open it again. If you fancy using your superpowers in a good cause, keep an eye on Cork City so that it stay sredirects to Cork (city). Whatever you or I might think of the rationale for Cork being a dab page, making these dabs is just a piece of nonsense. I was going to mention Cork city, but you'd already changed that. Naming convention

I noticed you comments on the article on the DRC general elections and thought you might be interested in a proposal I have:

The current naming convention for elections is:

Use the format "Demonym type election, date", for example "Canadian federal election, 1867"... (WP:NAME#Elections}

I propose this is changed to allow two alternatives, as follows:

Use either this form: political division type election, date, or this form: political division election of date. For example, Canadian federal election, 1867 or Canadian federal election of 1867. Where an article has been created using one form, do not move the article to the other form.

This new option would make linking more natural and make the article names more encyclopedic.

Roads in Miles

Zoney, some dude is adding (miles) in brackets after all distances in kilometers to the various road pages (see N6 for example). id this kosher, given Eire measures everything in k? (Sarah777 21:59, 6 December 2006 (UTC))

I think it's pretty silly; Wikipedia isn't here to provide conversions, and it clutters up the pages unnecessarily. Still, not too much harm I guess. I won't be adding in miles conversions myself anytime soon. zoney ♣ talk 20:42, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Leinster flag

Hi there, I am Daniele "Kanchelskis", the main creator of Irish portal on it.wiki. We had some troubles about Leinster flag: some admins wanted to delete the one uploaded on italian database (this) because of the presence of some clones on commons, but they cannot decide if it's a good or bad thing. The flag you made shows a darker green, while the "italian" one has an emerald green. Is there any law or official document for the correct green? Searching on google, the dark version is only from wikipedia and clones, while other sites show a very lighter version. Thank you and sorry for my bad english. Harrassment and Racial Slurs

Hi Zoney, I was wondering what you might think of the comments this user left on my talk page [7] [8]
