Proposed deletion of Peter Roycroft

edit

The article Peter Roycroft has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Doesn't appear to meet the Wikipedia:Notability (music) guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. E. Fokker (talk) 21:58, 3 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Peter Roycroft

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Roycroft requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Shane brady

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Shane brady, and it appears to be a substantial copy of http://www.coolinstudios.com.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) Thank you for your recent contributions. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, without the risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. (talk) 13:59, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Note, a userfied version of your article has been copied to User:Zulmar Jofli dos Santos Junior/Gardiner Street Gospel Choir. This does not mean that the original article will be deleted, this is still pending a full deletion discussion which may take several more days giving time for article improvement. Please see User pages for guidance on what is allowed in your personal userspace. If you need help from an experienced user, then feel free to use {{helpme}} and ask a question in a new section on this talk page. Thanks, (talk) 14:02, 4 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have noticed that several sentences in an article your created, Gardiner Street Gospel Choir, are copyright violations of text taken directly from the group's website pages:

  • Appropriately enough, the gospel choir includes among its members, people from nearby and elsewhere who have strong family links with Gardiner Street. They also reflect Dublin as it is today, coming from diverse backgrounds in Ireland and elsewhere. Found here on Choir website.
  • The first Gardiner Street Gospel Choir Mass took place on 7 May, 2000 with two keyboards and sixteen singers - twelve female and four male.
  • Over the last two years, the choir and band have played in various venues ranging from schools for disabled children, prisons, charity events, and large scale concerts as well as the weekly mass in Gardiner Street. Found here on Choir website.

As soon as possible please delete these and all other text copied directly from other sources, then read Wikipedia:Copy-paste to asses how you should proceed. If you have any questions, sign on to Wikipedia's Editing-Help Channel and someone there will probably be able to answer your questions. Shearonink (talk) 13:55, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for File:Gsgc2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Gsgc2.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:06, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
