Taxonomy
editThe genus Vandenboschia was erected by Edwin Copeland in 1938.[1] Its status, like other genera in the family Hymenophyllaceae, remains disputed. The Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I) accepts the genus, saying that there are about 15 species.[2] As of October 2019[update], the Checklist of Ferns and Lycophytes of the World listed 25 species and one hybrid,[1] whereas Plants of the World Online subsumed the genus into Trichomanes.[3]
