Nocton Estate Light Railway
editWasps Nest was formally served by the Nocton Estate Light Railway[3] which was a small network of working light railway sidings which were connected to Nocton and Dunston railway station and ran as far as the River Witham near Bardney although were never connected to the Lincolnshire Loop Line at Bardney railway station. The railway sidings were simple agricultural railway sidings and worked by workers in the vast amount of fields between Bardney, Nocton and surrounding hamlets. They mostly collected potatoes grown in the marshlands.[4]
