Maybe this is a strange choice? But it comes in as number 14 on the list of Wikipedia:Database reports/Most-watched pages, and the article with the highest ranking on that list, with 3900 watchers, and it is currently only at Start-class. If we wanted to get some attention to the collaboration, maybe chooing one of the most watched pages in wikipedia might be a way to go? John Carter (talk) 19:05, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Interesting for a practical standpoint. I'll comment that of the watchers 177 are active per User:Equazcion/ActiveWatchers. This could conceivably bring some of those editors to this project. I've found some good highbeam sources related to the Island's use to study Avian Malaria and endangered species being relocated from there. Excellent JSTOR sources abound as well. From the skimming I've done, this seems to be one of the most important bird sanctuaries in the world and the article does little to show that. It also seems like a good candidate when considering the possibility to get a GA or FA end result. Ryan Vesey 19:23, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm interested in this one as well. I'll see if I can dig up some sources and discuss them in the comments later this week. I, Jethrobot drop me a line (note: not a bot!) 03:47, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- Seems a very good candidate. Rich Farmbrough, 01:00, 28 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]
- Agreed. A lot of 'dummy' material needs to be added, the article is dominated by factual data rather than readable prose. ChrisGualtieri (talk) 04:20, 30 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- This seems like a good choice. The topic seems accessible and the article does not have much content except the history. A lot of basic information can be added. -- Toshio Yamaguchi (tlk−ctb) 21:03, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- My own opinion: Just because everyone is "familiar" with a concept does not mean the article can or should be improved, nor, indeed, does it mean that editors will have an interest in improving it or that they will have the ability to do so. Level 2 Vital article. A very major topic that is rather poorly covered. Coin945 (talk) 15:54, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- I was surprised by the number of page views this was getting, I think this would be a good candidate for improvement. Ryan Vesey 17:56, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Too short, needs expansion. AutomaticStrikeout 18:07, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A class C, level 2, vital article with 712,883 views in the last 90 days. It was a good article in 2006, but delisted 6 months later. It seems most of what it needs is referencing.

- As a level 2 vital article, this should be one of the early focuses of this project. Ryan Vesey 17:51, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- With all the people who use Wikipedia for research, I think this would be an excellent choice to bring up to A-class. Mr. Vernon (talk) 05:53, 28 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

- The problem is, this is semi-protected. If we put up a TAFI template and tell people that anyone can edit it, what's going to happen when they try and cannot? AutomaticStrikeout 18:09, 1 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
